That's really sad, if probably inevitable in this day and age.

This group is also angling to buy Asmodee and has picked up a few other game companies like Gearbox and Deep Dilver.

Hey, being bought by a bloated games company famed for their middling output worked out well for Valiant so I'm sure this'll go great too.

Comic book companies being bought by bloated corporate entities from another industry that don't fully grasp the field they're getting into and just thinking it'll be a cheap source of hit IP is the same whatever the decade. I give it two years before buyers remorse sets in when they realise that it's not Marvel/DC and few of their hits were work for hire and then the interference and cost cutting will begin.

Does Dark Horse even own any real IP? I was under the impression it was simply a publication company for creator-owned content and licensed franchises.

My understanding is that they've been owned in majority by outside interests for a while now, so there's a good chance that not a lot meaningfully changes for Dark Horse. Still, it's always a cause for concern.

The people of FAN should have pooled all our money together and bought the company. FAN-Fiction Comics we could have had a Usagi Yojimbo crossover with Cornfed and Platypus.

Dark Horse has beenn publishing Groo. If this somehow leads to an open world Groo game, then I am ALL IN.

Yeah, remember when Disney bought Marvel and it all fell to ruins?

Is The Mask owned by Dark Horse or Mike Richardson personally? I'm pretty sure Dark Horse is like Image where the company itself doesn't own anything. I might be wrong though.

I believe they own The Mask, Ghost, and Timecop. Most of their other properties are creator owned but Dark Horse would have the licensing agreements that the new owners would now own.

Dark Horse had published Sin City, Hellboy & Umbrella Academy but it doesn't own any of these, congrats however on buying Barb Wire though
