Tough to pick, but it'd definitely be a game system.
I'm gonna go with the Nintendo 64, 10th birthday
SNES was great too, it's like picking your favorite child. But I don't remember the circumstances in which the SNES was brought into my life, while I still remember the N64 birthday.
Honorable mention: My very well meaning but daft grandma bought me the Steve Austin and Chyna porcelain dolls one Christmas because she knew I was a wrestling fan. What teenage boy wouldn't love having those..*shudders*..things?
She did also get me an Undertaker throw blanket, that ended up on my bedroom wall until I moved away to college.

Man, this is a tough one.
At various years I got an Atari 7800, an NES, a SNES, and an N64. Those are all top contenders (and all came from my mom who also got me a PS4 for Christmas a few years ago so I need to thank her).
An honorable mention would be Christmas 1987 when I got my first haul of G.I. Joe stuff and it was a huge haul. I had been watching the animated series my whole life at that point but didn't have any of the toys. I got almost the entire 1987 assortment at once, it was insane.

I got a fishing pole when I was 4.
It's my favorite hobby today, even down to the science of constructing ponds for specific species mixes and breeding hybrids and specialty species. It's not just fish either. I hobby farm papershell crawfish in a kiddie pool in my basement alongside my fathead minnow breeding setup. When I retire and have more time, I hope to do the same with freshwater prawns and trout fry (to restock in my creek). I had success with the trout during the first covid shutdown, but with "normal working hours" it's a bit much on my plate. But I at least have the proof of concept. That's often the hardest part of this sort of work.

Game Boy Color in the late ‘90s.
Pokémon Yellow included, of course.

Since I don't know when we ever got any of our gaming systems when I was a kid, I'll have to assume my correct answer would be G1 Transformers (such as Starscream) or GI Joe related. It could be Star Wars related, but most of those toys I got around the time any particular movie came out, which were always in the summer.
Actually, I do recall some nice Lego sets that I got for Christmas. As my collection of Lego grew the things I could do to expand my playing with other toy sets also expanded.

Either Gameboy Colour with Pokemon Red and Blue, a camcorder, my PS2, or Pokemon Gold and Silver. I think I'm gonna go with Pokemon GS, just because I actually cried with happiness when my parents let me have it early, lol.

Game Boy Color in the late ‘90s. Pokémon Yellow included, of course. Kids loved that damn game. I know nothing of Pokémon but I worked retail when it came out, it was impossible to keep that game in stock. It would come in and sell out right away.

Probably Ocarina of Time for the N64. I was obsessively collecting any magazine that mentioned it all year and would dream about playing it, but my family were having major financial difficulties that year so I wasn't expecting it. I was told to look in the stocking (traditionally it was always sweets or something in there), and there was that box with the gold cartridge. I think I cried. I should clarify I was 9.

Gotta go with the NES I got for my 4th birthday. My uncle had recently brought his over, my dad played it and loved it and surprise surprise I got one for my bday shortly after
12th birthday landed me an N64 with Goldeneye and Mario Kart, but I still point to the NES as my favourite present.

When I got the NES in 1990, an easy #1. 31 years later and I still play it. I can't think of any other gift I got that has had that much longevity.

So many video games. Probably the one I remember the most is getting a N64. It was so big at the time. My first GameBoy. Genesis. Pokemon Red. Mortal Kombat 3. Terrible game in retrospect, but MK was gigantic at the time and it was the first time my parents let me get a MK game.
Non-video game one would have to be the SuperSoaker 2000.

Probably a gaming system but so many other people have said that, so I'll just go with a more sentimental response for me. Here he is, the 1989 K-Mart Christmas bear. Christmas 1989(the same Christmas we all got our first Nintendo oddly enough) He was my best friend for years. Even to the point where I was made fun of for still having a teddy bear when I maybe became too old to have one. That picture is not the actual bear I got. Since then he lost all his clothes and has become dirty and full of holes, but he still sits on my bed next to me when I go to sleep at night.

My PS2 for Christmas in 2002. I got WWE Smackdown SYM, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex. Although my brother and I actually snooped around and found it a couple of weeks before Christmas. For some reason my brother told my parents we found it so the surprise was ruined.

95/96 Arsenal away blue lightning shirt. Made even more memorable by the fact that my Dad trolled me by getting Mum to wrap an old Man Utd shirt that she had found in a charity shop (she is a football philistine, bless her) and made me open that first to my disgust. I still have that blue Arsenal shirt which I am saving for my little one.

The year I got a GT Snow Racer is probably my strongest memeory. I had been asking for one after a friend let me use his. It was a green Christmas that year but I was so excited, I started putting the GT together immediately. It started to snow while I was building it. By the time I was done there was just enough snow on the ground to be able to use it.
