Danielson vs. Page on Jan. 5th

Last week we got the time limit draw. It was the same trope used for Danielson/Omega.


I have a feeling that we will get some screwy finish with these appointed judges. Then this fued will be extended to the next PPV, where it will be a no time limit match or some special stipulation to get a decisive finish.

I think more and more I'm finding myself partial to Bryan winning via decision and then Hangman beats him to get the belt back at Revolution. Little back-and-forth with the belt wouldn't kill anyone and it's been a fun feud.

I feel like the judges are there to guarantee a winner moreso than to come into play. There's no way to come out and say "this match will not go to a draw and also will be shorter than the first one," and the only other option is a no time limit match, where the game is given away if they book more than two other matches on the show.

Maybe Bryan has one of the judges who is latered discovered to be bribed. The judge screws over Hangman.

I like that AEW is putting something in place in storyline to guarantee a winner. That makes sense and judges are more exciting than just saying the match will have no time limit.

I'd prefer Hangman to beat Danielson clean without it going the distance though. Maybe the judges can still keep a running score (like in boxing) and Danielson has more points than Hangman, but Page gets the job done cleanly in the ring.

Championship judges are such a throwback to early AEW. I’d forgotten the whole concept had been quietly phased out.

There's been one other match in AEW that's used judges. IIRC they didn't factor into the result at all and were just window dressing to guarantee there weren't be a draw.

Though winning by judges' decision is still a clean win unless it's proven that Danielson paid them off or something.

Can Hangman just win with, like, no bullshit? Anything in the rematch that’s like “Hangman won, but Danielson would have won if…” AFTER doing a 60 minute draw just feels like protection overkill to me.

Got to agree. Seems like Hangman should win the rematch decisively but the promo tonight and judges bit smells fishy.

Personally, I’m fine either way. Hangman winning seems “right” but I wouldn’t mind these guys doing a trilogy either.

I could see it ending in another time limit ,the judges say hangman won for another rematch. But I doubt it.

I'd hope they don't do a "heel judge shows preferential bias towards Danielson" angle. Of all the ways to end Hangman's reign, that would be really, really, really stupid.
