Strangely, I'm digging these promos. I don't think he crossing the line too much between reality and fiction. But tonight, he mentioned that his presence as a heel isn't going to work in getting the fans to cheer Cody.
I think the hardcore fanbase is begging for a Cody heel turn, and Lambert acknowledged that.

I think the best heels find truth in their promos but bury it under so much dipshittery that you just wanna see them get their teeth kicked in. Dan Lambert is a masterclass at this imo, and I'm glad he's still here doing it.

I like his promos a lot more now he's focusing on TK, Cody, and the Men of the Year missing opportunities. It's far safer ground than some of his earlier promos and I don't mind if he sticks with this style.

I am well aware that Lambert is a heel and that his end goal is to get his ass kicked, but the thing is... I genuinely agree with the things he says. No lie.
Sure, most of the people on here find Scorpio Sky as little more than a gamer meme, but he is the only man to hold multiple pinfall victories over Chris Jericho, and despite SCU being widely rejected by AEW audiences, he's easily the most successful of the three and also the one that seems to have the most potential, given that Christopher Daniels's career is pretty much over and Frankie Kazarian did not get anything positive out of being "the Elite killer" when he played absolutely no part whatsoever in the Elite's downfall. And Ethan Page can potentially be a top heel in the company if they give him more prominence. You'd think that they would probably be in a higher spot, Sky especially, than just being the two guys constantly standing behind Lambert with shit-eating grins.
The issue is, AEW has a nasty habit of consistently pushing guys repeatedly against the audience, or often purely because they're close to the boss. Now, the Lambert feud itself did not help the Men of the Year out, ironically, given the majority of the promo time was between Lambert and Jericho (ironically, most of the Inner Circle have mostly been relegated to the background, with Hager doing practically nothing and Santana and Ortiz slumming on Dark & Elevation), but the fact that a feud between factions centered exclusively around two old men doesn't help with the narrative. Yes, I know the "kayfabe" argument is "Oh, they hitched their wagon to Dan Lambert, so Sky and Page are dumbasses that deserve what's coming to them", but Lambert often isn't talking about kayfabe. Sky and Page are with Lambert because that's their designation on the card; Lambert's minions. And Lambert is pointing that out.

I love that the promo felt like a show interruption rather than a scripted segment. It really sells the discontent. Just dudes in the crowd with a mic as they’re trying to go to the next segment cutting the show off.

Lambert is great at what he does, but Scorpio and Page either need a starmarking performance soon or he should move on and manage someone else, because getting them over is a lost cause.

Penelope and Bunny also come to mind.

Lambert has adapted in how to cut promos in a wrestling show, but yeah if he was managing someone like Brian Cage then it would be a golden partnership.

The problem with the ATT/Inner Circle feud was that it was more of a "Dan Lambert vs. Chris Jericho" feud, and Scorpio & Page got thrown in as you're not gonna have a bunch of MMA guys and an old man fumble around the ring. I have no idea if there are any plans to give those two a performance that justifies the amount of time they're given. It's kind of backwards, really.

The only issue I really have with Dan is there isn't really much kayfabe reason why he can just have people who don't work for the company show up and beat the shit out of contracted talent. Does he clear it with Tony first, and Khan just doesn't tell Jericho because it's funny? Because that'd be great, granted.

To add on to the plot holes... he's complaining that Scorpio hasn't gotten a shot against Guevara. And... it's...literally an open challenge. It's been first come, first serve in kayfabe, so all Scorpio had to do was ask. That would be a great detail for Guevara to throw in Lambert's face, but it feels like something that will just slip by without comment.

Only issue I have with it is most of the "entitled EVPs" are all heels for the most part Just because Lambert's a heel doesn't mean he has to like the other heels on the roster. If he feels like his Guy's are being ignored and other people are getting preferential treatment, it would make sense for him to point that out
