I will say this - Although Die Hard 2 was not one of my favorites of the series, I still can enjoy it. However, for the past decade (hell, I wonder if this discussion even when it was still the 2000s) there has been a debate about whether or not Die Hard is a Christmas movie. I hardly hear people discuss the first Lethal Weapon as such, but some can talk about Ghostbusters II or Batman Returns. However, Die Hard 2 seems to get the short end of the stick.
As noted before, Die Hard 2 may probably be low on my list of Die Hard movies (I still like it, though, and also the fourth movie; the fifth one, not so much), but it's still set around Christmas time, not to mention it was the only one that was set in snowy weather.
So what's your opinion on this? I know that the second one is not as well-regarded as the first film and the third film, but when talking about Christmas films, people often say "It's not Christmas until Hans Gruber falls off the building." I could imagine if someone said, "It's not Christmas until John McClane blows up an airplane by lighting a trail of gas along a runway."

This is the movie where that guy from Section 31 kills Chief O'Brien, and where Korbin Dallas kills the T1000 and Cleo McDowell.

I don't think Die Hard 2 gets any love when people talk about Die Hard movies, let alone Christmas movies.

I don't think Die Hard 2 gets any love when people talk about Die Hard movies, let alone Christmas movies. Like I said before, although I wouldn't put it high on the list of Die Hard films, I can still enjoy the movie for what it is. I would call it underrated, but when it comes to my top two of the series, it's the first and third films. I also said that I liked the fourth film. The fifth one, on the other hand...

It's funny, the first four movies all started life as different movies before being rewritten into what they ultimately became. The fifth movie was always a Die Hard movie, and winds up not only being the worst of the bunch by a long, long way, but also doesn't feel even slightly like a Die Hard movie.

I don't think Die Hard 2 gets any love when people talk about Die Hard movies, let alone Christmas movies. Probably because it’s 4th best out of 5, and was the severe weak link of the original trilogy. Die Hard and With a Vengeance are both classic action movies, Die Hard 2 feels like a Die Hard knockoff
