Any one else pick up games from the Winter sale? Any recommendations on games to check out?
So far I've bought:
- Red Dead Redemption 2 (Already own it on PS4, but it's good enough to buy again.) - NASCAR Heat 5 (I have no interest in NASCAR and I've never played a NASCAR game, but it was cheap enough to check out.) - Ultimate Fishing Simulator (I probably shouldn't admit it, but I've already put 20 hours into this game. It's extremely addicting.)

I haven't bought anything because I just don't do PC gaming much...
HOWEVER
I am considering picking up a few VR games, namely Half Life Alyx and Skyrim VR, to use my new Oculus Quest 2 as a PCVR headset
My PC has a 980ti, so I think they will work if I don't go mod crazy on Skyrim.

It’s a pretty steep learning curve compared to previous games in the genre like Zoo Tycoon, but if you’ve got the time to give it a proper play through, it’d be worth getting at the cheap price it’s at now.

As someone who knows little about Steam & does little PC gaming but does occasionally do mobile gaming… I see that Steam has a mobile app. Would it be worth the money to buy some of the games I’ve missed if mobile is going to be my primary playing platform?

I mean, it depends on what you’d be using the PC for if you were to game there. Like, I’m sort of getting back into PC gaming only because there’s stuff I missed out I could probably play in a slightly better looking capacity than the PS4 I have and such.

Like, I’m sort of getting back into PC gaming only because there’s stuff I missed out I could probably play in a slightly better looking capacity than the PS4 I have and such. Personally I’m not too much of a hyper-purist on graphics, as long as the main gameplay is there and it maintains a decent look. I realize mobile gaming isn’t quite going to be the same experience as big screen gaming, & I’m ok with that. I know the Mega Man iOS ports, for instance, got some flack, but personally, I was just happy to have Mega Man on my iPhone & enjoyed playing them. And to be honest, I probably wouldn’t have ever given two hoots about Steam, except that it looks like I can finish up my Mega Man Legacy Collection with it. I just feel like I wouldn’t have the time to play much if I have to be tied down to a PC. But I would find mobile playing to be acceptable as long as the gameplay is still there for the most part & it’s not constantly glitching out. I’m not big on first-person shooter games, but I do like the platform-type games we played as kids, & some strategy games. Hopefully this clarifies what I’m looking for somewhat. With that said, would it be worth my money to spend a little on Steam games if I’m primarily going to be using mobile? Or would I be wasting my money?

You don’t have to put a tonne of time to it a time, it’s 50% off and pretty much the definitive version of the game outside of the Switch version. It has a very Super Mario Sunshine vibe without the water pack stuff. I’m not sure what strategy games are on sale (usually a lot) so I can’t say for sure but I’ll always recommend that to people.

I'm pondering what I should get. Mass Effect I'm tempted to, never having played it before, but unsure as I haven't bought a controller yet and I'm assuming that I'll need a controller for it.
Semi tempted to get FFX and X-2, though that would be a replay, albeit one I haven't played since the first time I played it years ago.
Subnautica could be fun, but this one I'm most unsure of when it comes to my laptop handling it.
There's also stuff like Hollow Night, replaying Monster Rancher 1 and 2, Civilization... at this point my brain shorts out on thinking of what I wanna play, cause there's a ton.

You don't need a controller for Mass Effect. I got the LE working and the keyboard/mouse controls work perfectly fine and my original copy is on the 360 so I know the difference.

I went back and picked up Dead By Daylight. I really liked the Friday the 13th game and I've heard this is a non-broken version of that game.

So far I've gotten Gat out of Hell, Far Cry: Bloodragon, and Far Cry 3. Sure they're old, but it was like 12 bucks for all 3.

With all the craziness I had to go through with computers this past week, I forgot this was a thing going on.
I'll have to look tomorrow when I'm more sober and see if there's anything I really want to get.
