AEW really needs to tone it down on the redundant segments.

We had three separate matches end in a beatdown tonight, two of which included a face being comically late to come make the save. Besides that there were also two matches in a row that ended in a run-in, plus two matches where a key part of the finish was miscommunication between tag partners.

Don't think there's necessarily wrong with the lot of it in isolation but that's a lot of repeat notes to hit in the span of a couple of hours.

i don't mind it as much as others, mainly because I don't think it detracts from the story at all as far as I've seen.

And I'm pretty sure Chris was deliberately late so Kingston could get angry at him.

Yeah it was even more perplexing that this was the last Dynamite on TNT...The run-ins are nearly every match now as well.

That's definitely true with Elite-related finishes where they or their associates go over.

At least for this finish I like that there's a sudden issue with Undisputed with the miscommunication, and they totally ran out to save face with Cole and act like the "heroes".

But that wasn't what the announcers were putting over. It was just "Kingston didn't want Jericho's help." Wrestling isn't really a medium for subtlety--if the idea is that Jericho was fashionably late and that it was an issue, then that needs to be explicitly put over.

And Soho was just as late on the save a segment or two later, with no issue. The booking was somehow inconsistent and *too* consistent at the same time.

I instinctively looked at the part of my TV screen where the entrance ramp was after Cutler ran out. That’s how formulaic those finishes are.

Part of me gets it because they don't want to dip their toes into the DQ/no contest/countout waters which I've seen play out elsewhere, and trust me, I get it. But I think some coordination to spread these things out over several weeks would be helpful. But I also get the idea that weekly TV is largely a continuous story and you always want to build to the next thing. I guess I'd like some more moderation but I understand why this happens.

I don't think it helped that we had a ten-man tag and two six-man tags on the same show, leaving only a Wardlow squash and the women's match as the only singles matches of the nights. Multi-man fatigue could be a thing.

I don't mind faces being a little late to help, especially when they're helping wrestlers they're not formally associated with. Getting there too quickly is only possible if the wrestler is standing by the ramp and waiting for their cue, if we're supposed to believe things aren't scripted and planned then a delay is more realistic. Having two saves play out in the exact same way on the same show is a bit much though.

Playing Jericho and Soho’s music made it worse. If they are going to do the late run ins, then just have the person come out to no music. At least makes it seem like it was spontaneous. AEW is usually good with the little things but this is one thing they should clean up. I know the theme is what gets the pop but it comes at the expense of making it look realistic.
