Too bad it seems like she is no longer one we can all agree on. As certain people got pissy for her saying something last year. This is where the world sucks right now (not directed at you) but people say something that many disagree with or feel it’s not directly 100% on their side and they let that erase a lifetime of good work. If you look up what she’s done/given she should be considered a saint. people who stir up crap on twitter dont speak for the general public - seems to be a vocal minority who the media thinks speaks for the average joe/mary

Someone who hasn't been mentioned: Alice Cooper. Yes, THAT Alice Cooper.

I don't even like country music but this woman is a damn saint. She definitely is and I am ashamed I forgot about her. I used to live in her hometown and they will back up the fact that she is 100% genuine. She does a ton of charity work and helps out where/when she can. Dolly rules.

First name that came to mind for me and surprised no one else has said it…. David Attenborough.

First name that came to mind for me and surprised no one else has said it…. David Attenborough. Much as I hate to say it, very few people know him beyond “that guy on the nature documentaries” in the US. Not only that, his last few documentaries got quite a bit heavy handed on environmental impact (one series literally ended every episode with that), rubbed quite a few people the wrong way unfortunately. Whether it be true or not (it is), deniers will always vilify that kind of activism if it’s on their Netflix feed.

He’s probably second only to the Queen in the “death that will be worthy of mourning on a large National level” stakes and I’d personally put him ahead of her there. If you say that Attenborough is really only known for nature shows outside of his native land then outside of the US what was Betty White known for other than The Golden Girls? If you’re known in several places around the world for only being in one particular thing but being one of the very best in that area, then that’s still pretty good going.

I’ve learned never to worship anyone or use celebrities for hope. At the end of the day, they are all just people, humans, who make mistakes like us. You can admire their talents, like them, love them for the joy they give you, but it’s never a good idea to put people on pedestals.
I will say though, you want to admire someone who is super famous but a real human being, I’d say Robert Downey Jr is a good choice. For a long time, he was a complete f*** up, especially with drugs. The dude was always mega talented, but for so long ruined his career because of his demons. Then he got clean, starred in great movies, and is now a Hollywood legend, he’s one of the few stars who fell so hard and fast and then not only got clean but because an even bigger star than he ever was before.

Melissa Joan Hart seems nice, but I'm scared to do a deep dive on her only to find out she has some sort of racist rant on TMZ or whatever.

I’ll go with Wayne Gretzky.
The man has been hyper aware of his image since he was about 10 years old.
Don’t think there’s much to impeach him over.
