6. Tomb Raider (2013)
For some reason, I had told myself to start playing these games again. Maybe it's because I have an itch to watch the movies, as in both of the early-2000s films with Angelina Jolie, and the 2018 film with Alicia Vikander. I also recall that I was playing this last year but I never finished it. So I decided to restart it so I could go through the story.
I know that this was a reboot. Back when it came out, which was almost a decade ago, I remember reading how some people didn't approve it out they changed the Lara Croft character. But with this being a new continuity, I accepted it. I won't deny that it reminded me of Uncharted, but not in a bad way. I very much enjoyed this game.
Now I will do Rise of the Tomb Raider, but at the same time I am also in the mood to play the classic series (from Core Design) and the mid-to-late-2000s games (Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld). I may do Rise and possibly Legend.

^^ Tomb Raider does Uncharted better than Uncharted did Uncharted. Love that series. Extremely lukewarm on Uncharted.

^^ Tomb Raider does Uncharted better than Uncharted did Uncharted. Love that series. Extremely lukewarm on Uncharted. I have always liked Uncharted, but that's neither here nor there. I had started on Rise of the Tomb Raider, but at the same time, I have an itch to play one of the ones from the mid-to-late-2000s trilogy. I am more in the mood to play Legend, but at the same time I want to play Anniversary, and I'm not sure which to play first. Yes, I know Anniversary was a remake of the original Tomb Raider game and used elements to tie into Legend and Underworld (which is a direct follow-up to Legend). If I am going to do the first reboot trilogy, which should I start with - Legend or Anniversary? Oh, and I may also play the original series (sans The Angel of Darkness, as I don't have that one, and I don't think I want to buy it) at some point.

21: Ghost Recon: Breakpoint
Another Tom Clancy Ubisoft looter/shooter. But I like this one quite a bit more than The Division. More stealth oriented, and the enemies aren’t never ending bullet sponges. It’s quite fun to sneak around enemy bases directing your AI teammates and picking off the enemies one-by-one. Absolutely huge game, even after beating it, I only feel like I explored a fraction of the island.
I’m a Ubi fanboy. Their games aren’t top-tier GOTY contenders, but they're always fun and worth sinking plenty of time into. And I’m generally lucky and don’t get hit by the bugs.

Finished the main story, just all the little bits to finish it off.
I really enjoyed the recruit anybody mechanic, but started to notice the repeating elements of the people after a while. The actual recruitment missions also got repetitive pretty quickly. Could probably have done with more side missions as well, but it seems like they've gone with loads of collectibles instead. I did enjoy the British setting, really liked the talk radio station, the gameplay was nothing groundbreaking but fun enough with plenty of gadgets and options available for missions.

5. Rugrats: Search for Reptar Bought for nostalgia’s sake and beaten within two hours. Pretty awful but still a fun time.
6. Banjo Kazooie Took everything that made Mario 64 good and perfected it.

22: Anthem
Flawed game, no doubt. The first person hub area sucks. Not being able to change your equipment in the field is baffling. Story is nonexistent. Loot leaves a little to be desired. But the core gameplay past all of that is actually fun. The combat is tight, the flying around is really enjoyable. Characters is are kind of endearing. There was something here buried beneath the bad. Shame they couldn’t unlock it.

10. Super Punchout.
This was probably the first SNES game I ever beaten as a kid and I always have fun trying to zip through it. I just have not played it in awhile because I kinda struggled this time. But I will always have a soft spot for this game.
11. Legend of Zelda.
I don’t know why it took me so long to really get into the first Zelda game. I think i tried a few times to start it but things came up and I forgot. I finally decided to dive into it and keep playing till I beat it. And I loved it! It’s obviously more bare boned compared to other Zelda games, but it’s kind of like the original Super Mario Brothers in that by pure gameplay, it’s timeless. Link to the Past is still my favorite. But I am very glad I played the original and it is definitely an all time classic game.

14. 50 Cent - Blood On The Sand (PS3, physical)
This game has no right being as fun as it is, but damn it there's something so enjoyable being 50 firing rocket launchers, throwing Molotovs and shit as all his music blares and constant corny dialogue. The driving sections are a bit crap though, and hitting the helicopters with RPGs is infuriating because the rockets are so slow. Texture pop-in can also be brutal, you can be in a level for a solid ten seconds before the textures load in. Final stage very anticlimactic. Would absolutely recommend for a quick, mindless shooter though.

7. Rise of the Tomb Raider
After a week, I had completed this (although I took two days off from playing it). I had heard some people say that this was lackluster to the first (of the 2010s series, anyway, aka the "Survivor" series; no, I didn't mean to make a wrestling reference) but I still enjoyed it. It was a little longer and I had some Last of Us vibes from it, particularly the sequel when talking about characters like Sofia and Jacob. Also, the visuals were stunning for mid-2010s standards. My main gripe was that towards the end of the story, it felt like rehash of the last bits of its predecessor's story when fighting the armored undead knights and the mercenaries.
Now to do Shadow of the Tomb Raider, but I think I will do the Croft Manor DLC bits first.

7. LoZ: Ocarina of Time
This game definitely showed it's age and made me appreciate Majora's Mask so much more for its better overworld, faster pace, and overall quality of life improvements.

Okay, in a past thread that was related to this, I had debated whether story DLC packs count as games that I could beat. I know I had included Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, and should I do GTA IV, I may also include The Lost and Damned, and The Ballad of Gay Tony as their own entities. In a past thread, I had included the Sleeping Dogs DLCs as their own entities. The same could be said about The Last of Us: Left Behind. Hell, if I were to ever play Case Zero and Case West of Dead Rising 2 (hypothetically, because I don't own an Xbox 360 or Xbox One, nor a Series X or S), as well as the Untold Stories of Dead Rising 3, those may count as well.
With all of that being said, I may have to include this.
8. Rise of the Tomb Raider: Blood Ties
I saw that this was more about exploring the Croft Manor as there was no combat whatsoever in this DLC. What was interesting about this was that every time Lara came across a relic or a document, it touched on a lot of elements to her parents' backstory. I won't lie, but some of the bits were emotional, especially when talking about Lara's mother. I also wonder if because I had finished the main campaign recently that some stuff related to that appearing after the end of Blood Ties only occurred if you finish the main campaign. But I am not sure.
I was going to do Lara's Nightmare, but I figured I could do that some other time. I started on Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I may also start on Legend just because and do that trilogy. I may get to the classic games at some point (long story about a couple of them as to why I can't), if I could get used to the dated controls.

33. Street Fighter V
Ended up buying the upgrade pack for it while it's on sale and gotten back into playing this for the first time in a long time, been doing a lot of stuff with it the past couple days. Might pick up season 5 next time I see it on sale though kind of inclined to take a break from it for now; think they've gotten the game to a point where there's more to it but it still feels a bit hollow and not very welcoming to people who aren't great at Street Fighter.

34. Nickelodeon All Star Brawl
Okay, so not really a gigantic chunk of a game there but hey, it counts. been fiddling with it for a bit since they put it up on PS Plus and while certainly basic I am very much enjoying it. Might drop the money on Jenny later.

35. Super Mario Sunshine
Had a mostly-done playthrough sitting for a bit and kind of just randomly felt like wrapping it up tonight. It's sort of a game I have very mixed opinions on; I think a lot of it is pretty fun, and I do appreciate how weird it is in light of how homogenous the Mario series has largely been ever since, but it can be very frustrating to play, with some pretty cheap level design, awkward controls, a pretty awful camera, and an overall feeling like the thing was released unfinished. Is the one 3D Mario game I've never 100%ed, nor have I ever felt particularly tempted to do so if only due to the Blue Coins, but doing a run-through of the core 50 Shine Sprites can be pretty fun at least.

23: Trials of Mana
Solid game. A few things held it back from being really good. Very bad voice acting. Emotional scenes just didn’t register because the actors couldn’t emote it. The fighting was action RPG style, but it was all locked into the little areas the enemies spawned. Music was good, but there was too many repeated tracks. Like Secret of Mana had new music throughout the whole game… but once you his endgame here, just more of the same.
Despite those complaints, it’s very fun. Also very replayable with 6 different characters (you play 3 in a playthrough), and a plethora of different classes to play with. This was a much better effort than the Secret of Mana Remake, which felt like an upgraded mobile port while this felt like a legitimate console game.

24: Dark Nights With Poe & Munro
An awful spin-off FMV / choose-your-own-adventure game in the Dr Dekker /Shapeshifting Detective universe. It’s so bad. But in a so bad it’s good way. The plots are nonsensical. The acting is hilarious. None of the episodes go together. It was on sale, and that’s the only way I would have bought this.
Don’t get me wrong. It was really bad, but it was a short bit of entertainment and for $3 I’ll take it. I’ll even go back and get the remaining trophies for the plat.
