A face Gigi is currently my pick to take the title from Mandy. They can fight for both the title and custody of Jacy Jayne. I don't see them turning Gigi face any time soon, on top of her promo delivery being really, really abysmal. The thing is she's been over lately (when she's been on TV anyway). If that continues, they should at least think about it.

So much about Cora just... Doesn't work. Maybe they can do something with her eventually, but scrappy underdog who nearly always wins, has only actually been around for a few months, and has a devastating finisher in the form of a rollup is just not a recipe for an interesting or really even coherent character.

I wish Shotzi was still in NXT. She should've never been called up. She's a better fit there with all of the goofiness going on and she isn't ready for the main roster yet anyway.

IMO the reason Cora isn't working to the extent she should is because Mandy is not a woman to be feared so the underdog thing doesn't hold water when she is the antagonist.
I am not a fan of hers but go back to Raquel and Io....it was built on Io having to basically scale a mountain and Raquel just kept battering her and putting her through walls THAT felt more proper underdog then Cora against Mandy has felt at all.

Yup. Mandy has been wrestling for about 5 years now? And I would say for at least 4 of those 5 years, she has been nothing more than a complete jobber. And even outside of that she was very clearly positioned below "actual credible threat". I said it before, and I'll say it again. WWE is giving her the Jinder Mahal treatment, except instead of trying to pander to an entire country, they are trying to pander to horny men. And it's not working, because if people want to look at sexy ladies wearing skimpy outfits (or nothing at all), the internet exists. It doesn't help that Mandy in particular has been a real sore spot for some fans as they are pushing someone whose ceiling has pretty much already peaked over someone like Sarray. I'm sure someone will say "Well Sarray doesn't have a character". Okay then, NXT 2.0 is supposedly developmental, so she should be able to get the chance to work on one and flesh it out on TV.

I just came to the realization of why this Cora Vs Mandy thing feels so familiar but wayyyy shittier is because this is Kairi Vs Shayna kind of all over again but shittier. Underdog babyface Vs dominant heel champion flanked by her goon squad. THAT was proper underdog vs feared heel champ. I miss Kairi IMO the most gimme babyface woman WWE could have ever had.

Mandy also did a lot of tag team stuff during her main roster run. I don’t know that she has a ton of singles experience even now necessarily?
Gigi does have, something. And the crowds seem to be responding well to her. Also seeing her on the indies, she’s pretty solid in the ring. They’d be fools to not take note of this for the future.

They've tried pushing her as a singles competitor several times and every time she's pretty much flopped miserably. Her big push which probably would have led to a Smackdown Women's Title reign was killed because she almost paralyzed Asuka at a house show. They were going to push her against Mia Yim (against Retribution) but that flopped as well, because Mandy couldn't cut even a halfway decent promo. And then there was the Otis stuff where she was somewhat over, but then she had that absolute disaster of a match against Sonya at Summerslam, killing her push again (although to be fair, Sonya was also going through a very rough spot).

The Sonya program was weird because if anything it really exposed how much better Sonya was in comparison to Mandy. Sonya was the better wrestler, better on the mic, was more confident. Like Sonya should've been the featured player and star of the two, not Mandy.

For whatever reason they refuse to put Sonya back in the ring. IDK if it’s her choice, or they think they need a “big moment” for it or whatever.
But they need to just do it already. That’s what people want to see. Heck Sonya and Io had a pretty good match against each other a few years back actually.

If that continues, they should at least think about it. She's also seems pretty good in the ring and has a cool look to her. Of the new crop she definitely seems the most ready for a big push. Also I think promos are a bit overrated. Don't get me wrong I think it's a great and useful skill to have but I it shouldn't be a necessity to be a star. There's been plenty of huge stars in the business who weren't great promos. Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Sting, Bret Hart. Charisma and IT factor should be the most important and she has it.

Being paid to be on TV all the time in a featured role while not having to take any bumps is a pretty good gig. Also after she went through I don't think they are going to be pushy about it if it's case of them wanting her to wrestle again and her not wanting to.

If it’s her choice then that’s fair enough but as you there was that match against Io from a few years back and I seem to remember a match against Asuka on smack down which wasn’t a long match but my recollection is that Sonya more than held up her end of the bargain and didn’t look out of place. I think Mandy isn’t as bad as some think she is and she has improved, but by no means is she good enough or experienced enough to be able to carry a match with someone as green as Cora jade and I felt it was unfair on both women.

Then they need to stop teasing it constantly. It’s getting annoying.
