I believe it was the crew at WrestleTalk that had the take of with him dying his hair, that he’s initially playing into having a mid-life crisis and thst his recent lame promos have reflected that. And considering Jericho’s knack for reinvention, that wouldn’t completely surprise me, but at the same time there’s a part of me that things Chris is just washed as an on-screen performer and is on the verge of generating go-away heat from the AEW audience.Jericho is gonna get go away heat within the next year in this company. Guaranteed. Not sure how but rest assured, yeah.

If Jericho beats Kingston, then the go away heat will begin.

Yeah, I definitely think it's past time for the Inner Circle to go away. Santana and Ortiz would be better without being anchored to Jericho, Sammy needs to get away from them to more properly establish himself as more than just Jericho's little buddy, and I probably wouldn't even bother to renew Hager's contract whenever it's due up because he does nothing.

Yeah, I think the Inner Circle has run its course. Wouldn't mind seeing Jericho or P&P help out Sammy as friends, kinda like how Roman and Moxley always helped out each other post-Shield when they were on the same show and both faces. But as a faction? Time for them to call it a run.
I'd love to see Santana and Ortiz group up with Eddie Kingston and be a group of badass Puerto Ricans from New York while Sammy goes on his own or with the Vlog Crew. And Jericho can go back to being heel with Hager as his muscle.

Even if this first part is true, we already have one person that people are insistent is playing 5-D multidimensional revolutionary character-work chess in Cody Rhodes. We don't need Jericho doing it, too. If Jericho wants to turn heel again, then turn him heel again.

Jericho is 51 and has basically been top of his game for thirty years now. There aren't many that have had the longevity that Jericho has and it's surprising enough that he's been able to perform at the level he has for as long as he has. There's zero shame in cutting back/stopping completely the physical side of wrestling and just being a good mind and a commentator. I'm not a fan of the guy himself, but there aren't many (if any) that can match his record and performances over the last 30 years. He's a huge part of the reason why AEW took off initially, too. I just think he'd be better in a Sting role of putting a young guy over and wrestling through the hits in tag matches instead of trying to be a badass against the likes of Kingston.

He can say he was inspired by Brock all he wants but we all know he was really inspired by Ezekiel Jackson's slams.

Yeah creatively he's still fine and from all accounts he's basically on the level if the EVPs in the corporate ladder in AEW and is Tony's right hand man creatively. I do think face Jericho is still too much like a WWE face and it just doesn't work especially in the AEW world

For a man who has shown top-of-the-line brilliance in the last 25 years, he EPICALLY swung & missed with juvenile lines like "Squae Head" & "Pin Head" repetitively, because lame quips like that can NEVER possibly get over. Jericho could have called him "High Voltage", "Homeless Man's Curt Hennig", "Mr Imperfect", "Developmental Lifers", etc
Jericho is the same brilliant mind who came up with gems like "IT", "You just made the list", "Mucilangeous Pharisee", "Troglodyte", "Shut Up You Stupid Idiot", "It Begins", Money In The Bank, and the iconic Save Us promos (which is why I am 222)
Jericho epically messed up here. Why? Lack of sleep the night before? Fatigue? Washed & declining as an old man? A feeling of invincibility with security to cause complacency? Surrealistically free-wheeling to see what sticks, which some hitting & Jericho being overcofident? Jericho not into this feud with 2.0? Some of each?
Eddie Kingston should inspire Chris Jericho. Maybe Jericho can do the tag run with Hager.

Do think whenever they do Kingston / Jericho, Kingston 100% needs to win. Eddie basically entirely exists to get his ass kicked and Jericho's waaaay too protected for his position at this point.

Again for what it's worth, since the promo with 2.0, Jericho seems to have gotten the memo. He's been great on Rampage commentary the last few weeks, reminiscant of when he got over doing it in Atlanta, and looks like he's finally settling in to realizing he can't mail it in on the mic vs Kingston

I can't bear him on commentary. It's like he doesn't know that commentary is about enhancing the story, not yelling over everything and everyone. He's actually more unbearable on commentary for me than Tazz is, which I never thought would be possible.

I liked how he put over Starks as one of the pillars when he said there is more than just 4 pillars

Idk what it is about Babyface Jericho, but since he was even in his prime, his promos NOSEDIVE when he is a face, and always have. He only has one mode and it's to revert to 90's era Jericho type of insults that just have passed him by. For how innovate and creative the dude is with heel runs, I am baffled at how creatively stunted he is any time he has to be a face. 100% this. I can't think of another wrestler with a bigger gap in quality between their face and heel runs.

I think they've inadvertently stumbled into potential gold . Jericho's awful Lambert and 2.0 promos look extra lame compared to Eddie's realness.
Kingston dragging him back up to standard and/ or forcing his next reinvention could be great. At the very least I think we'll get once of Eddie's best promos about him struggling to get a chance while guys like Jericho coast.
