This is one of the biggest pet peeves of mine. I know WWE has to do it because of the lawsuit with the World Wildlife Fund, but it's still annoying. However, I've seen some people on this board do it, and I've even seen smarky youtube channels like cultaholic wrestling do it. I hate that because it's historically inaccurate.
Legends such as Bret Hart and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin weren't WWE champions, they were WWF champions. Andre The Giant never wrestled for the WWE, hell, he wasn't even alive for the name change.
I know at this point for most of my life(I'm 35 now), it's been WWE, but I grew up on World Wrestling Federation, and that's how I know it(at least before 2002) and refer to it accordingly.
How about you?

Mostly, no. Sometimes I do slip though. Or get lazy and just saw WWE in general.

I mean it's the same company, which is today known as WWE. I prefer WWF, but Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan, Diesel, all those guys were WWE champions even if it wasn't called WWE back then.
Yes, WWE sounds lame.

I just call it WWE at this point. Mainly because I got lazy and depends who I am talking about wrestling with. A got tired saying WWF and they go "whats that?" Then explain it again. The younger generation seem to not remember WWF as well, which is kind of sad.

I use the name the company used at the time. For example Bruno sammartino never was and to me will never be a WWE champion. He was the WWWF champion or at a push a WWF champion but even that isn’t correct.

I refer to anything pre-2002 as the WWF.

Anything from the certain eras, I refer to buy the name at the time-such as WWWF, WWF, WWE. I do call the Hall of Fame WWE.

I admit I do occasionally, not on purpose but just saying WWE instead of WWF comes more naturally now.. 20 years ago it was something I thought I would never get use to, But I guess as time goes on you kinda get use to it.
You'd be suprise how may none fans still think it's called WWF.

I typically call it WWF, same as Jim Crockett Promotions wasn't yet WCW.

When talking any era of WWE/ WWF with old buddies still refer to it as WWF. We also call the Rogers Center The SkyDome still though.

I say WWF, mainly to distinguish between eras. It's like a sports team changing names or cities, like the Sonics to the Thunder, or the New Jersey Nets to the Brooklyn Nets. Same storybook, just a different chapter.
But I'm not gonna say Wes unseld played for the Washington Wizards, he played for the Washington bullets. The same way I won't say Randy Savage was wwe champion, when he was WWF Champion. It's just not an accurate preservation of history.

Probably? I don't refer to it enough to really make any distinction in eras; it's not like I'd ever talk about it other than here where people wouldn't know the difference.
In that same vein, I'm not gonna call even older stuff WWWF. I don't care about accuracy to that degree.

It depends on the context of the conversation, I guess.

It took me forever to stop calling it WWF so for me if it took place in the 20th centiry I call it WWF. If it's its in the 21st century it's WWE. I know that doesn't line up exactly with the name change but it's close enough for me.

It largely depends on the context.

I still call them WWE because you don't deadname people even when you don't like them Apart from in the eyes of American law, wouldn't call a corporation a person. Like others have said, it's like any sports team or company, it's an era when they were called that.
