It was shown a ton in the U.K.; I haven't watched an episode since the late-'80s but that theme song is burned into my brain. We're they implying that dog was in the hot air balloon? I like to think he was.

Does Hobo mean something else in Canada. Because I hear a name like that I imagine Verne Troyer in tattered clothes seated in front of a burning wastebasket in a back ally. He was a homeless dog that roamed around to different towns helping people in need. Sometimes a kid who needs a friend, or somebody who got hurt while hiking, he'll even help the cops catch a burgerler. Then he's off to help someone else

Yeah, it was on in the UK. Always looked a little weird as I had never seen the US tv format before and the difference between PAL and SECAM formats was quite large back in the day. Same with the Red Hand Gang. It looked like it was filmed on an early video camera. Canadian TV was notorious for low budget back then. I swear, sometimes you'd see boom mics and crew members pop into screen.

I'm really hoping the dog ended up shooting someone with that rifle.

I feel like I never cared for the show, but it was on before something I did like, maybe even Superstars, but I think Inspector Gadget more likely, so I'd catch the end.
But, I'm Canadian, so I knew of it.

I'm just curious if the dog who helped people in need is known outside of Canada? Yea but only cause I heard it mentioned on Trailer Park Boys. So got the same guy that was sending my copies of TPB to include some Littlest Hobo episodes. I'm curious how many outside Canada know about Beachcombers? Relic was the man!

Fez murdered him after they ran out of chips and got mad and needed to shoot something at Eric's birthday party That episode had me wondering if the states had their own character with the same name

I know Trailer Park Boys, Letterkenney, Corner Gas, SCTV, Red Green Show, etc, but yeah, looking it up, I've never seen it in any capacity. Shitload of episodes, though, impressive.

I heard about Beachcombers thanks to TPB and early episodes of Exploited Cinema Podcast. Then in 2009 or 2010 while visiting a cousin who lived in Biloxi I saw that some channel she got on her cable was airing like 2 hours of Beachcombers every weekday. I watched it pretty much every day of the 2 weeks I stayed at her house. While not a Canadian show I am always surprised when I meet someone not from New Zealand/Australia/UK that knows about The Tribe. IIRC there is a poster here that has a sig pic with the cast of season 5 of The Tribe. From what I can find the show aired from about 2002 until around 2009 on Encore WAM channel, this was Encore's Kids channel. Then from 2006 till maybe 2008 it was syndicated all over the US. I only learned about it in 2003,my oldesst son was spending part of the summer with me and my then wife. He had been watching it at home. So when he saw we got Encore WAM on our cable he asked me to watch it with him. And the show is this odd combo of teen drama, think Degrassi Next Gen,mixed with a Mad Max style post apocolypse show. I loved just how odd the show was. Ended up importing all the seasons on DVD. Bought season 1 when SHout Factory released it in the States. And bought 2 of the books the creator wrote about the show. One is basically season 6,since season 5 ended on a cliffhanger. And the other book is more of a history of the show.

I mainly know of it because the lead is from my hometown. Besides one NHLer and the youngest Canadian to ever be convicted of triple homicide, it might make him the most famous person from my city.

American here, I used to watch it in the morning before school. Wasn’t on very long. Maybe just one year

I don’t remember caring for it at all, if I was watching it it was either leading into something else or it was Sunday morning and only religious or farming shows were on the other channels.

Uk, yes but mostly remember the theme song.
Actually think it's a genuinely great song, think Johnny Cash could have done one hell of a cover version.

It was shown a lot during the British schools holidays, and while I never liked the show itself the theme is an absolute gem. As a dog owner myself now all these years on, I appreciate the show and theme much more.
