The same company who recently had a man get set on fire and burned alive by e “good guy” as part of a storyline. And who had story centered around I gouging people’s eyeballs out.

WWE really needs to stop giving AEW new ideas for special match types. Also great ideas for quotes to market with as well.

I’d imagine someone reading that and thinking “Wow, AEW seems a lot more exciting than anything these schmucks put out.”

They let Brock Lesnar, 300 pound ex UFC fighter, shoot elbow Randy Orton’s (a guy with a history of concussions) head open where he www gushing blood and got another concussion. And that was only a few years ago.

I'm sure the WWE preferred way of blood and mutilation is what happens when a woman dares to bare an ankle and gets executed for it a few miles away from the arena WWE throws their propaganda shows at.
WWE clearly don't understand their audience. This is why less and less watch the shows.

You are right,WWE only endorses mutiliations when done by rich middle eastern tyrants

Also, sort of realized…WWE’s got a grudge against The Bunny, don’t they?
It’s likely the last person I expect them to target but I guess that’s what happens when they refuse to acknowledge the new Tribal Chief.

No gory self-mutilation for the women, only characters built around sex appeal and how much skin they can show. Got it.

So who gets to drop "gory self-mutilation" into their promo next week, Punk or MJF?

I’d link to the full Toronto Star article about AEW, but it’s paywalled.

Also also, after the first Blood & Guts statement, Vince booked an “Eye for an Eye” match where the goal was to yank someone’s eye out of their socket so I guess look forward to the next “counter measure” in the next couple of weeks?

Also, if you want to know where fans come in the list of priorities, it's easily seen at the end of that quote - "network partners, sponsors, venues, children, or the general public."

I’m sure children are your target audience when you have your NXT Women’s Champion cutting promos in a skimpy bikini. Or all of the champions gimmick being “guys want to boink them.”

So who gets to drop "gory self-mutilation" into their promo next week, Punk or MJF? They’ll do it together on the count of three.

Nothing they did in that street fight was anywhere near as dangerous or brutal as Mankind being thrown off the f***ing top of the Hell in a Cell, but they have no problem still showing THAT.

It's completely fine for them to be chasing different markets.
WWE can look down on them for how they're going about things, but the numbers clearly show there are people who want what AEW is offering.

He says as he makes plans with his despotic buddies in Saudi Arabia, although I guess it's usually not themselves being mutilated gorily. Ah, but the Saudis aren't putting on their brutal displays in front of network partners, sponsors, venues, or children*. Checkmate! *Except for the ones caught in their chemical weapons attacks.

I’d imagine someone reading that and thinking “Wow, AEW seems a lot more exciting than anything these schmucks put out.” It’s a bold strategy on their part to remind people of the most popular era in company history while discussing AEW.

We’re actually steps away from Vince McMahon writing a letter to Tony Khan asking him to address the problems or else he’ll look like someone he doesn’t care about his workers and just repeating every statement and thing he ever did with Ted Turner and WCW. For those unaware: He wrote this BEFORE the Taker/Mankind Hell in a Cell, right? Or the I Quit Match. Or any major Foley match really. I can't think of a single WCW match that comes close to the violence of the Attitude Era.
