Not sure how many critters we have here but their Amazon Prime show is coming out in two weeks so figured I'd get some hype going:

After the awesome job they did with Invincible I'm definitely looking forward to this.

It's some really funny recursion that a bunch of voice actors make their D&D game famous enough that it gets a cartoon adaptation where they voice their characters.

Finally sat down in 2020 while in lockdown and marathoned campaign 1 and 2. I am SO ready for this show.

I got into CR campaign 2 over lockdown (sound issues turned me off campaign 1) so really excited for this as I have next to no knowledge of the first campaign.
Animation looks so good

got into Critical Role mid-way of campaign 1, so it makes me so happy to see the success now.
Even if you have no interest in watching a DnD Campaign( which is fair) do watch the animated show, because there is some awesome moments

It's out now. It perfectly encapsulates the first campaign and it's characters perfectly. Goofy as hell, overly brutal at times, and also has plenty of drama.

First two episodes were good, but man things got real with the third. Looking forward to next batch in a week.

First two episodes had some pacing issues but they were a ton of fun and I loved all the easter eggs and meta references, including Matt Mercer have a lookalike in every episode.
Episode three was just plain badass. Delilah Briarwood could not have been casted more perfectly.

I never got into Critical Role even though it features some of my favorite VA's. "Watching people play D&D" has just never been a thing I got into. Would I be lost if I watched the LoVM without watching any Critical Role episodes? Most I know about it is that it's an adaptation of the first campaign.

The first two episodes do a great job of introducing the characters and the world, from then on it gets to the meat of the show and you're as caught up as you need to be. HIGHLY recommend checking the first three episodes out, only a half hour long each, much more digestible than the main show.

The first two episodes are adapted from their pre-stream game and everything after that is Campaign 1 once they really got into the meat of things. All the characters are introduced and established pretty well in the first two episodes. There are a couple visual gags and easter eggs for people who watch the stream, but you don't need to know them to enjoy the episodes.

Just finished episode 3. Really enjoying it so far.
Not all the humor lands, but the animation is great, good fights, interesting characters.
This thread is also the first time I've been aware that this is apparently based on a pre-existing property with it's own lore. I certainly never felt lost.
