I can never really get into the Winter Olympics as much as I do the Summer Olympics. One… There’s not as many things (109 medal events compared to 339 for Tokyo 2020), which, you know, it happens, there’s only so much stuff that can be done on snow and ice, but it leads to a lot of dead air. And two… Australia goes from medals out the wazoo to maybe two or three for the whole thing.

Tentpole events like Track & Field and Swimming specifically. Skiing requires so much equipment... and a mountain.

Winter Olympics: Too many bullshit sports where judges decide the winner for my tastes.

watched the last three stones of the last end of the FIRST teamGB mixed curling ... and saw two of the WORST shots i've seen!
especially the easy takeout of the THREE gb stones to draw the game and take it into an extra end ... but she fluffed it horrible by totally missing the stone she was aiming for!
but we have a 2-1 record so far

Australia on the board with a frosty bronzy in the women’s snowboard slopestyle, an event that has seen the neighbours New Zealand get their first ever Olympic winter goldie.

Curling is such an enigma. It's sounds like the most boring shit ever but it's the most fun thing to watch in the Winter Olympics.
Additional Rant: NBC's primetime coverage on TV is just dire. You're watching something and they sometimes just randomly cut out 90% of the event and replace it with yet another sob story. Less is more. The more sob stories NBC tries to push the less anybody cares. Some of them are laughable, like a Ski Jumper that broke their leg and thought they'd never jump again! Well shit isn't that like most ski jumpers? I think it's on their union card that they have a break like 10 bones before they qualify for an Olympics. It's like trying to make a sob story about a hockey player that lost their teeth.

The United States finally on the board with a goldie, and it's one 16 years in the making for snowboarder Lindsay Jacobellis. If you ever see the clip of someone falling over on the last jump of a snowboard race and losing the lead because they decided to do a trick, that was her in the 2006 Olympic final.
