I've always wondered how well this Wrestlemania 36 storyline would've been with the live crowd. Then the lure of coming back to the NFL and the rest is history.
Would he have been booed or cheered during this run?

Mixed reactions or indifference, I'm guessing.

Dude has kind of transcended football. I think he'd definitely get a decent pop.
Also think he'd be a hell of a pro wrestler if he really committed, but he's still killing it as a TE and may very well win at least one more Super Bowl, so I don't expect that'll ever happen.

USAA members sure wouldn't cheer him.

Yeah, Gronk is a pretty famous name in the country, so he'd be getting decent reactions, with the only people saying "Who?" would be the international fans. Whether he'd be getting booed or cheered might depend on whatever city they happened to be that week.

They might have tried to make him a face at first, but I think ultimately he would have gotten really over as a heel.

Mojo Rawley screaming "FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER" made me stop the video. I want to throw cabbage at him. So I still don't know who his friend is, but he IS his friend and that's enough of a red flag.

I'd be one of those guys... > I'll try to learn rules of football this year before SuperBowl happens! I wanna start to follow X League whenever it might start this summer!

I think Gronk would have get over more if he showed up to a show in FL or possibly in the NE area (hell, Patriots are my #1 but I do follow the Bucs because of Gronk/Brady).

Rebellion is more over with WWE crowds than most talent so he would get a pop for showing up, booed for everything else unless he does an impressive spot. Then they would likely still boo him talking. Except in whatever places he played, I guess

Can't believe there was a sustained period where wrestling shows looked like this. Like everything about this is pure pain.

I'll always love that fact the went there for a huge paycheck when there weren't even any crowds then peaced out and went back to football thus making Vince and Co look like huge chumps.

USAA members sure wouldn't cheer him. I've seen someone call him the Trix Rabbit of USAA and it's so apt I wish I'd come up with it.

It was also funnier that it was Brady basically going to him "Hey, so we're rebuilding the Patriots team in Tampa Bay to win a Super Bowl, want in?" and he couldn't have gone fast enough.

People would love or hate him, or think he’s just ok.

Hey Gronk want to go play football in Florida with me and the rest of the old team? DO I!

Crazy over the closer you got to Boston, more heel heat the closer you get to Miami, Buffalo and New York.

I felt it was a big missed opportunity of him appearing at Wrestlemania XXXVII. The Buccaneers won the Super Bowl last year. Wrestlemania had a live crowd. Gronk could have appeared and regained the 24/7 title while also flashing his Super Bowl ring, and then finally retire the damn 24/7 belt.
