I wasn't following much at the the time, so how did it all go down?
It went from Enzo and Big Cass breaking up. Enzo was suppose to be the face. I believe Cass won the feud.
Then next thing I know, he's a heel? And winning the crusierweight title?
Then he's getting the last hour and main event segments on Raw?
Everything moved so fast, so I'm trying to figure out how he went from beloved babyface to a heel in a matter of a few months.
Was the WWE high on him giving him these high profile segments in 2017 with Neville?

Dude was charismatic as hell, he could switch from face to heel and back and forth in a second.
And apparently Vince both hated him and wanted him to carry the 205 Live show at the time.
Vince had decided to change 205 live to a more character driven show and Enzo was the man chosen to do that( and it worked was 205 was having an increase in viewership until the whole Rape Accusation situation)

He went heel because everyone in the locker room hated him and it started rubbing off on the audience.

Something that I never see mentioned is when Enzo was on MizTV and Miz hit him with a Ric Flair/Carlito type promo out of nowhere around this time. Brought up the "getting kicked off the tour bus" incident a whole bunch and shit like that.
Even at the time when I was way too hard on Enzo I remember being like damn what the hell was that about

Hopefully so, but by that logic, the cycle of bullies and A-holes would have ended generations ago.

Enzo single handedly sunk 205 Live's chances by being a piece of shit because him being the ultimate heel on the show was working.

He cheated to win the Cruiserweight title by kicking Neville in the balls.
205 Live becoming more character driven was pretty good for a while but character wise the only one who was as good a character was powerpoint loving, No Fly Zone Drew Gulak

The double turn between Enzo and Neville was so brilliantly done and should've been the end of Neville's time in the CW division and the start of his upper midcard run.

Yeah, as soon as Enzo showed up on 205 Live, they started building the turn by having him become a pariah among the 205 locker room, with him low blowing Neville in their title match cementing the turn, as well what should have been a face turn for Neville, but you know that second part didn't last.
Also, on the note of Enzo getting the "main event spot" and "third hour spots," the 3rd hour is generally the lowest rated hour, so being in that spot is not quite what everyone thinks it is. More often than not, the transition between 2nd and 3rd hour is where they actually put the most important segment of the night (look at how many times Brock is in that slot over the years), but people still think of that final segment as a prestigious spot and it is definitely the highest rated part of the third hour, so they can give that spot to women or Cruiserweights to make them seem important.
That said, one of the few times the third hour actually drew a higher rating than hour two was when Cass turned on Enzo, so they may have booked Enzo's first segments as Cruiserweight champion in that closing spot in an attempt to capture that lightning in a bottle again.
