And please correct us if any have been done!
Anyway, I was just thinking the inverse of The Bezerker could be a fun spot. Basically you have a bunch of mid/lower card guys in the ring. Not too many maybe 4 or 5. The monster heel comes in and destroys everyone. As he does so he pins people with one foot. Meanwhile his manager keeps yelling at him that, that doesn’t work in this match and he has to toss guys out. Finally either an Austin 97 type or someone hiding under the ring sneaks in and tosses the heel out.
To expand on that spot I also thought so the winner doesn’t look like a chump you could have the heel flip out after being eliminated. He goes back in the ring and tosses out not only the guy who eliminated him, but also the mid/lower card guys. This comes to a halt when the eventually winner comes out and beats the heel’s ass before tossing him out again.
This seems like it would’ve been perfect around the time Umaga and Cena were around.

There are two people fighting in the ring before number 30 enters. With just 10 seconds left on when the two guys have eliminated each other. And then number 30 comes and has just won the rumble without having been in it.
Of course, it would be a heel and would be booed like never before as he gets on the mike talks about how he outlasted 29 other guys to win.
Yeah it would never happen but, it would be fun to see.

I was even going to mention that spot as part of my OP but figured my OP was long enough already I’ve been reading that pitch since the late 1990s/early 2000s. I’m sure some indie must’ve used it by now. It would have been great in the WWF pre-Internet. Something like 1989 with The Million Dollar Man coming out and winning. He kind of did a variation of that on that one Raw Anniversary show battle royal.

A debuting wrestler entering through the crowd with no fanfare. Sell it like they went into business for themselves. They have a nice showing, eliminating a favorite or two. Then follow that up with a storyline where they use their peformance as leverage to get signed with the company and a guaranteed match at Wrestlemania.

The one that seems very difficult to book. Number 30 is the first person eliminated.

Travel back in time to '94/'95.
Doink comes down to the ring eating a banana. He enters the Rumble after finishing said banana. As he's fending off other entrants he drops the banana peal near one side of the ring. Hilarity ensues when wrestlers slip on the peal, leading to someone slipping and getting eliminated.
The banana peal is eventually eaten by Bastion Booger.

Unless I’m forgetting something from the past couple of years…
The first big AEW star debuting/returning in the Rumble. I think it’s inevitable that we’ll see more ship jumping over the years (Both AEW to WWE and WWE to AEW) and the Rumble is a fun place to debut/return.
The rumor of Cody Rhodes returning, even if it’s just a one-off, for this year would be a lot of fun. Especially because he’s pretty much Mr. AEW.

Some spots with a rigged ring: -Someone with in-universe super strength (Braun or Big Show or Mark Henry when they were still there) "lifts" part of the ring causing a few mid-carders to fall over the top and get eliminated -Someone "destroys" part of the ring - wrecks a ring post that leaves half the ring ropes down or sagging so eliminations become dangerously easy on one side, or they do the "two big guys suplex" spot near the end that causes the ring collapse bit and people slide out and are eliminated because they're technically going over the top rope

I don’t think the promotion/fan relationship is in a strong enough place right now (or for the next… I don’t know, when’s the heat death of the universe scheduled for?) for that to happen effectively. You either have a babyface win it like that, and the reaction would be that they absolutely fluked into the win and didn’t work for it, thus they don’t deserve it. See the reaction when babyfaces enter last in gauntlet matches. Or you have a heel win it like that, and it’s one of the most miserable things to ever happen in wrestling. And either way, you’ve thrown away one of your showpiece matches of the entire year and kneecapped the build for one of your other showpiece matches of the entire year for something that was never going to work.

Randy Orton goes for an RKO, but his opponent grabs his tights and throws him over the ropes.

Not really a spot but a rule change in id like to see pins and submissions in the rumble,i have no idea why but the idea amuses me with refs having to run around all over the place making counts!
A wrestler earns two spots in the rumble, gets dumped out and walks to the back to wait for his second chance spot which is the next entrant out thus he would have to come back out again right away!

As a wrestler is making his way to the ring, another wrestler is press slammed over the top rope onto him

I’m specifically saying AEW. Otherwise you could count a few different Rumble returns/debuts.

Honestly I think you could probably pair up the aforementioned "heel wins at number 30" idea with a "Santino in the 2011 Rumble" esque comeback spot and make a pretty good segment out of it.
Arrogant bad guy seemingly wins with no effort and starts verbally bragging only to get his comeuppance by an unlikely babyface most had written off.

Apart from all thirty participants entering the match before there's an elimination (which would be awful but interesting), I just want a legit shocking winner. A winner that no one saw coming in a million years. Like, Greece Euro 2004 levels of shocking. Imagine if someone like Dominik Mysterio won the Rumble, for example. I think it'd get a huge pop and might make him a star.

When Zach Gowen was there have him come down to the ring and enter with his prosthetic leg, which he removes and places it in the corner. Late in the match he gets tossed out, but Gowen gloats that only one foot touched the floor. The person who tossed him grabs his prosthetic leg and tosses it over the top rope in front of him and he’s finally declared out of the rumble.

This used to be my go-to answer, but now they’d just do it with Roman or Charlotte and it wouldn’t be fun or entertaining it’d just be frustrating. They had the perfect opportunity ten years ago when Chris Jericho had just returned again but was only making his entrance, saying nothing, then leaving. How perfect would that have been for a number 30 default win?! He even wrestled for the title at Wrestlemania. Instead he just entered the match like usual. Missed opportunity.
