This is hilarious. Best story of the year already and we're only in February. And yeah, I can imagine that people were pissed if Shane's demands screwed around with Bad Bunny's booking. Not only has Bad Bunny put in way more effort into his wrestling spots than anyone expected him to/he needed to, but he's still not a wrestler. He's not equipped to deal with changes on the fly. Him and Johnny Knoxville were the two people who's Rumble spots needed to be well planned and set in stone as early as possible. Wrestling is far too dangerous for non-wrestlers to be messed around with. It's why when Big Cass got fired for going off script with a Daniel Bryan impersonator, it was such a serious deal and pretty justified. These people aren't trained for it and they open up massive liability for the company, you don't f*** around with them. [Andrew Zarian] "Few notes from source regarding Shane and the Rumble: There were numerous changes to what number Bad Bunny would be; This was a cause for concern and people within WWE were upset; WWE doesn’t want to come off negatively with such a major outside star".

Now that we know for sure it's real, what I'll say is that if Shane genuinely was one of the reasons the Rumble was such chaos and they took steps to fix it, good on them?
Feels weird to compliment WWE on sending somebody home but here we are, I guess.

It IS pretty crazy they actually took care of an issue and took steps to correct it, rather than like... put the belt immediately on Shane and put him in the Mania main event.

It is crazy how quick Vince was to take action against his own son but the shit heads in his ear remain untouched.
Amazing what hardcore ass nuzzling can do for your job security.

It feels like when it's an issue with talent that occurs outside the locker room (e.g., Uso's) they're quick to neglect it, but this clearly caused wave IN the locker room which is probably a little different. In any event, none of it probably matters until we see what next year's Rumble looks like.

I would kill to spend one day as a fly on the wall during a show. I'm fascinated by who is actually running what these days.

If this is legit, well, I'm hoping it really is legit because this will be one of the funniest things in years.

I think Shane did himself no favors here and probably deserves to be gone. But WWE does also have a history of passing the buck and blaming others so that Vince doesn’t take the blame. In the last few days we’ve heard reports about Brock, Shane, Ronda, Charlotte, etc that paint them in not great light. It all feels, convenient, timing wise. Especially since earlier reports said that Vince was VERY hands on with the Men’s Rumble in particular. What did Bork do? I heard that he attacked a Wee-man

These recent events take me back to the report from former WWE referee Mike Chioda back in December, when he stated that the McMahon family was in disarray and being torn a part behind the scenes.
As for Shane’s “Royal Rumble” drama and exodus from the company, he’s one of the few relics from a bygone era that still generates a crowd reaction no matter how he’s used so considering the importance of the Saudi shows and “established” names are to it… I’m surprised plans were pulled on him so abruptly.
However, with reports confirming that he was being difficult behind the scenes, this sends a message to the other talent as well as if the son of the boss can be sent home then anyone can.
With that said, it seems like for year’s Shane has been touted as the most easily going and likable McMahon, but apparently even he’s turned into a difficult and confrontation personality as well.

Shane being out of control makes sense given his last few angles. He shoehorned himself into Bryan's return match, fought Taker at Mania in a ridiculously too close match, won the f***ing tag titles and then turned heel and went over Miz repeatedly, making him look like a f***ing idiot. He did put Owens over, only because it was time for him to go away.

Reports the week before the Rumble: "Vince is very hands on with the men's Rumble, it's very much his."
Shane, bursting into the room: "WHAT'S UP, ST. LOUIS?"

Rollins still wins at EC (probably due to Reigns interference) and defends against Theory or Owens at WM now I guess. Might as well throw in Lashley and make it a 4 way. Won't main event night 1, that'll probably be Charlotte v Rousey. If anything this improves the card.
