Looking back at this, holy cow, she stole ALL of the heat away from Asuka after her hard earned win. Absolutely brutal.
Anyone else feel this way?
Asuka and Ronda in a blood feud over this would actually be quite amazing.

The second it happened I knew that was a gut punch to Asuka. Even 4 years ago I could tell where the winds were blowing.

Asuka and Ronda in a blood feud over this would actually be quite amazing. It's cute you think this would ever happen, let alone Asuka coming out of it looking even remotely credible. Also Ronda has gone on record saying she was actively against the idea of coming out then, as she felt like it did Asuka dirty. But WWE wanted her out there. It's a larger problem with Asuka in general. Every single one of her "big accomplishments" is immediately overshadowed by something larger. It's why her fans (myself included) are so vocal about her booking being poor. Because she never actually truly gets a big moment, and she's running out of time to actually get a major win at Wrestlemania as well. Eventually she's going to be shoved into that "veteran hand who only exists to put over others" role.

I think the latter days of her last title reign and her last few months before her injury were a sign that that day is coming very soon if it hasn't come already.

Yeah, I said it elsewhere... it's like Dean Ambrose... on Paper it looks like they set them up to be THE person... but actually watching or doing any amount of research about the stories around them and it tells a completely different story.

Hey remember all that talk about how Asuka always plays 2nd , 3rd..7th fiddle even though she has gotten a ton of accomplishments.
We would like to present exhibit A through Ronda.

Asuka must be one of the most successful wrestlers in WWE to never get anywhere near their ceiling.
How can you have that many reigns and stay that over and yet still have been underused?

BTW Asuka is the ONLY Women’s Rumble winner so far to lose at Mania.
Take a guess as to who beat her?

Mind you, she couldn't even start making full appearances until February, because she was still filming a movie at the time. So she came out just to kill Asuka's heat dead and point at the WrestleMania sign and f*** off back to filming.
If you told me she was brought in for the sole purpose of cutting Asuka's legs from under her out of spite, I'm sure it would make more sense than whatever reason WWE brass has for doing it that way.

I did like the story coming full circle at TLC though. Ronda stole Asuka’s thunder at the start of the year, but her costing Charlotte and Becky the ladder match gave Asuka her moment at the end of it.

I like to think the entire evening went like this:
Ronda gets in the ring, points at WM sign. Ronda walks back up the ramp, points at WM sign. Ronda goes back to catering, points at WM sign. Ronda is in her car going to the hotel, points at WM sign. Ronda is asleep in her bed, points at WM sign. Ronda wakes up the next day, points at WM sign.

Ronda wasn't even on Raw the night night. It was the most baffling WWE starf***er nonsense to undercut the woman who actually did something that night, and its ratings were below what the previous year's post-Rumble show got so the stunt didn't even pay off. Just unforgivable garbage all around.

If you want to succeed in WWE, consider this.
Become famous in something else first.

You could write a f***ing thesis about how many times WWE took the heat away from Asuka in her big moments on the main roster
Like I get the argument with Asuka is she's ton a ton of titles and accolades, and it's true, but she may be one of the worst booked world champions in their history given how much she was always made to look lesser than the horsewomen, and this moment with Ronda was so blatant that it hurt.

If you want to succeed in WWE, consider this. Become famous in something else first. Just like my last job. Work there for years, work hard, go above and beyond, earn a promotion. Make less money after being promoted than someone who comes in from outside the company.
