They’re REALLY dragging Britt’s reign out for the sake of it now. Hasnt happened yet so we really dont know if that's what's happening

Going by these results I think we can wave away Britt/Rosa happening at Revolution. If Rosa was challenging for the title I feel like she would've just won this clean. The fact that it looks like they're continuing her feud with Mercedes for another couple of weeks and we have around 4 weeks to Revolution would indicate something else is happening. There just won't be enough time. Question is what does Britt do at Revolution? Shida is in Japan Riho is injured Soho I feel if they were giving it to Soho she would've beat Nyla Statlander is feuding with Leyla and they haven't booked her strong over Britt Tay had her shot at the last PPV and I think she should beat Cargill for the TBS title at Revolution Anna could've had it but she's been given zero momentum and has been booked as a perennial loser Who does that leave?? I'm thinking if Rosa is off the table then they really need a big match. Britt v Toni Storm would be a big match. Athena would be another big match. I feel this is where they're going here If it's not Rosa, then it's probably Athena if she still goes by that name, cause idk if Toni Storm's non-compete ends by then, if it does, she'd be a worthwhile opponent. That being said, I dont think you realistically bring either one of those women in to immediately lose to the champion either so... it'd be an interesting development I wasn't sure what the situation with Toni Storms no-compete clause was, but she did put out on social media that she was taking bookings so I'm guessing it's a similar situation to Malacki Black where WWE forgot to renew her contract when she went to SD, that's a plausible explanation since she wasn't on SD long and she clearly wasn't a high priority for them As for Revolution. Athena I think is the more likely of the 2 to be Britts challenger, I think she's the better Wrestler as well. I'm a big fan, I think she was the best the NXT division had outside of Io, and even then its a close 2nd, and yet they barely did anything with her at all the last few years except a brief tag team title run with Shotzi Blackheart. They clearly dropped the ball with her. That said Britt Baker v Toni Storm is a bigger match since Toni is still fresh in people's minds. I do agree with you that toni Storm or Athena shouldn't be losing right away, that's not exactly ideal, but like I said earlier they haven't built up any babyfaces to challenge her, it's a problem that's biting them in the ass. I guess we'll know for sure within the next week or 2

I don’t care for how the division is being booked overall. Like heels are the only ones winning right now. That’s a problem.
Also it’s not that I “don’t like” Britt. It’s just what is her still being champion really accomplishing now? They cannot even find good stories for her to do anymore?

Ohhh boy. Between that one spoiler match result and a very HEAT-heavy Dynamite this feels like a distinctly WWE-influenced week for AEW. Hoping it’s an exception rather than the rule moving forward.

I really hope we can stop calling AEW shows that don't fit their usual mode "WWE influenced", because imo that's just stupid, every wrestling company busts out these tropes every now and again

It's just you see certain tropes used badly for more than a decade and you sorta develop an instinctual revulsion to them. Don't want AEW ending up like UP NAWTH

Don't want AEW ending up like UP NAWTH {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} This is AEW's third DQ finish ever done in the history of the company, and a lot of people here have frankly wanted them to do a few more DQs here and there, so I'm ok with it in moderation.

Not every fan out there hates every heel, believe it or not, and are in fact entertained when they win It's AEW however, where the Faces always end up on top in major storylines, so I don't know what you're worried about here. Stories need an ebb and a flow. If the Disney Villain didn't get major victories midway through the film, the heroes have nothing to overcome.

Yeah I'm willing to give 'em the benefit of the doubt in this case. Like I said, it's probably a "me" issue rather than an ill omen or anything.

Just saying if you get into wrestling, I don't know what you're expecting? The babyface to always win and never ever face hardships? Because wrestling has never correctly worked that way, they need challenges and there needs to be lows for highs to happen Granted, I understand the notion that some people just don't like heat, but AEW is a very babyface company, they win when they're supposed to win.

I feel like you and I usually have respectful disagreements, so here's mine. I know WHY AEW does things like they do.. typically, the heels win virtually every confrontation until the PPV where it's paid off with the face winning. There's nothing wrong with that formula, for the most part, but with only 4 ppv's a year it just drags out everything way, way too long with the heels coming out on top. It's not misery booking, but it is frustrating booking.

I'd argue that every feud isn't this way, because up until last night, Punk had dominated the MJF feud, Baker and her clique losing to Riho multiple times, or Ruby winning the first match against Nyla. It happens a lot in The Elite storylines, which understandably frustrates people and makes it feel grander, because they're a big part of the show.

The issue here imo is more that the babyfaces in the women’s division haven’t won on TV in quite awhile now. None of them feel like they’re being built up. All of the women being pushed are heels.
And when you’re a few weeks out from a PPV and you’re champion had zero story set up at all, yeah I’d say that’s an issue.
