For major stuff, sure, but I don’t think it’s reasonable for anyone to expect any promotion to have like three months of television planned in advance down to each individual segment. All you really need to do is give people enough to get an idea of where some things are going, but not be so beholden to them that, if someone else gets hot, you can pivot into another direction and make it make sense. If you can do that, that’s 90% of the hard work done with this stuff.

Yep. Even stuff like limiting matches between certain people, particularly the pillars so they can return to them and make thise matches important over multiple years.
MJF's already planted seeds for an angle of him leaving with the title for wwe next year.
The downside to that approach is life will inevitably get in the way. Might be building and holding back for a time that never comes but that's better than burning everything out.

Tony Khan had alluded to having a 5-year main storyline arc, so that is meticulous. Everything else seems to be plug-and-play which can lead to things getting dragged out.
