This'll be the last thing I say here; I'm sorry for becoming so agitated. I shouldn't have been so oversensitive about what was being said here.

And it is also part of a wider point that relationships in movies have been more sanitized in the last decade. Like, nobody expects overt sex but you don’t even get much in terms of kissing and it’s kind of weird at times?

Moonfall was dumb fun. I saw it in a 4DX theater shaking seats, fog, wind, water in the face. I had a blast.

Like, nobody expects overt sex but you don’t even get much in terms of kissing and it’s kind of weird at times? I remember the Mr. Plinkett review from Red Letter Media on The Force Awakens kind of discussed this; it's weird to have a fictional world filled to the brim with good looking young people and just get this vibe like none of them so much as think about sex. Obviously doesn't mean a demand for explicit material or whatever, especially in PG-13 movies, but still, it kind of comes off weird sometimes in a of modern movies. There's some bits of romance, but by and large pretty limited; honestly, it'd be kind of interesting to see some franchises not be afraid to normalize more casual relationships, depict them as something that just happens between people sometimes and which can shape aspects of their overall relationships.

Tony Stark had a one night stand with a reporter in his very first movie in 2008.
Batman had Vicki Vale stay over way back in 89.
Lois Lane and Superman hooked up in the Fortress of Solitude in 1980.

I wonder if the lack of thirst in the MCU is because of trying to hard to be family friendly or because they want to show the movies in sexually repressed countries with a lot of money.
You also had that infamous "Batman doesn't do that" line from Warner about why he won't eat out Catwoman.
