Teddy's theme song was originally for Rodney Mack, old Rodders had his cup of coffee in the E and then disappeared, but Long has kept Mack's theme song all these years, to the point where you hear it now and you immediately think there is going to be a impromptu tag match or main event with the undertaker coming up now. Pavlov's style.
anyway is this the longest reign of theft of theme music? i can't think of anyone else who's music is actually for someone else, but i'm sure there are many other examples.

Hulk Hogan is pretty much the undisputed champion of this, since "Real American" was originally made for the tag team known as U.S. Express, which was the mid-80s pairing of Mike Rotunda & Barry Windham.

The WWE Theme Song for Ernest Miller is now more associated with Brodus Clay.

Kurt Angle's theme "Medal" was originally used by The Patriot during his brief WWF stay in 1997. (It was also briefly used by Mark Henry during dark matches and house shows before returning from injury in 1998.)

That Teddy Long theme was also the WM14 theme except it had rap lyrics.

Goldberg's WCW theme was originally used throughout all of 1996 for Pat Tanaka (as in Tanaka wrestling *as* Tanaka and not "El Gato"). It makes it kind of a headtrip to watch old Worldwides and hear Goldberg's music expecting him to come out since the rest of the mid-90s WCW aesthetic is there.

I would bet theme recycling was actually pretty common in WCW. Like, I'd think a lot of lower-card people ended up with something that someone else had had before. (Eg : Jindrak getting "All the Days" (aka "Basketball Highlights #2") after Jericho had it) I'd think it was common in OVW and FCW too, since they typically used production themes, too.

Blitzkrieg thankfully made the Hollywood Blondes' theme not feel as jobberish anymore compared to when Greg Valentine and Marty Jannetty used it in WCW.

Steven Richards took Kronik's theme during his brief association with them and ended up using it for the better part of a decade.

I think Slaughter might've used it for a short spell too.

Brock Lesnar's theme was originally used as the walkout music for the Chicago Enforcers XFL team.

The WWE Theme Song for Ernest Miller is now more associated with Brodus Clay. Cameron came out to it at the Rumble so I guess it’s hers now/again

I still can’t believe AJ’s current theme was meant for James Storm and that Bobby Roode’s “glorious” was considered for Shinsuke.
