Disclaimer: I do not watch any of the YouTube shows so this post might be invalid from certain standpoints as it regards the Nightmare Factory.
It was known, and established during the Cody feud, that QT runs a wrestling school and has a number of students who are at various stages in their development.
However, at this point in the Hook arc, is AEW doing a disservice by marching out slightly more green wrestlers to get beaten like a drum by Taz's kid?
Even QT himself has felt the path of rage and has looked like a chumpiest chump who has ever chumped in this storyline so far.
I recognize that they're doing this to establish Hook but it also kind of devalues those he has beaten - or is QT (who is bearing an alarming resemblance to Alex Jones these days) just that of a lousy trainer?

AEW is no stranger to debut rookies that lose alot.
Arguably Hook is the only exception and thats because he spend 1 year or so on tv.
So basically no, thats normal in AEW.
I do feel like the group has a whole needs some accomplishment tho.

I do think Nick Commoroto is going to be something, his look is just too awesome, I'm thinking he's going to be the breakout star of that group Also I thought Hook was also one of Marshall's former students in kayfabe/real life

I quite enjoy some of what he and his goons do and several have potential
But they also just kinda suck really hard

I think they're building to Anthony Ogogo being the first guy to give HOOK a real challenge.

The rookies are all Young Boys who are supposed to get their asses kicked a lot as a way of learning the ropes. It just sticks out because the Factory is literally a stable of Young Boys.

HOOK has beaten so far
- Fuego Del Sol - Bear Bronson - Aaron Solo - Serpentico - Blake Li
Blake Li was the first Young Lion he actually beat, the others are all much more accomplished indie wrestlers or in Serpentico and Solo's case, more veteran status he simply outclassed. So he's not so much walking over people greener than he is, he's got legitimate talent and is showing it beating wrestlers of all shapes and sizes so far. Li is just a Young Lion of QT's school, and QT tried to brag that his "star pupil" of his training class was better than HOOK, and HOOK's just on another level right now than Blake Li currently is, so QT got shown up for his trouble.
And QT is meant to look like a chum here 100 percent, he's really good at it, he's great at making others look good while being able to pick up convincing wins himself. It's a good starting point for HOOK's career to have a little feud with them, especially when they clearly want HOOK cheered.

Yeah, I am expecting that Hook is probably going to get laid out by Anthony, and may even take his first loss to him or QT if Anthony did it as interference. Could lead to a Team Taz vs The Factory mini-feud, especially since Ricky Starks used to team with Aaron Solow, anyhow. Of course, could be that it doesn't come to that, but it does feel like that's a possibility.

It's a good job kayfabe went away, else QT would have gone out of business.
Who'd want to go to his loser school for losers?!

As the guy who seems to complain endlessly about things in AEW, I'd say... yeah, it diminishes a lot about QT's Factory. However, the issue is that, besides the infamous Cody/Ogogo feud that went nowhere after one "match" before Ogogo got hurt, what else have they done? QT did his requisite jobs to Cody and then jobbed to Big Show, but his protégés haven't done anything of note, presumably on account of their lack of experience.
Feeding them to Hook doesn't help with that, either, since we don't even know what the point is of QT's school anymore. Is he creating the next generation of enhancement talent, just like him?

For the record, Comoroto has been wrestling for 9 years and Solow has been wrestling for 12. Those guys are probably as good as they're going to be.
Looking at the Nightmare Showcases, I don't see a lot of potential there, at least on the men's side. Brooke Havoc could be solid if she stays healthy.

This could just be hometown bias, but Comoroto might have the most potential in this stable besides Ogogo (if not moreso since has more experience in ring). He's only 30 years old, has a great old school look to him, and has been pretty impressive in the TV matches I've seen from him. So far his biggest showcase on AEW tv was the bull rope match against Dustin, this year I want to see him used more, he would probably make a good choice for Keith Lee's 1st real feud in the company
