Fans attending shows again and buying merchandise there no doubt played a big part in it

I wonder how much Amanda Huber and Mark Henry helping grow the community outreach has played a part in it as well

Great stuff. Would be interested in what the profit was though when you deduct the hefty talent expenditure etc. Revenue looks to be more than high enough to cover it and come away with a healthy profit, but would be interested to see how much.

It's hilarious when you hear people in WWE complaining that AEW isn't playing fair because they don't need to make money since they're owned by a billionaire. Tony could easily run this as purely a passion project but he got into this partly because he saw a business opportunity and if he continues at his current pace, he'll add a good chunk of dollars to his family's fortune. And to my point - look at the Cody news. Tony wants to make a profit and has a budget for talent.

Tony has also said the budget for talent is pretty high and plans to sign more, but at the same time, was not feeling Cody asking for Punk level money, and I'm not exactly blaming him

Yeah, but how much if any of that is profit?
I'm not trying to shit in their Cheerios because that is a hell of an achievement, but I'll breathe a lot easier when the company is making money.
ETA: and given how the Khans have run the Jags, I kinda question their sports business acumen....

ETA: and given how the Khans have run the Jags, I kinda question their sports business acumen.... They were only not in the black last year due to the games division, are seeing a 10 percent yearly scale up on their deal, and will probably see even higher interest in 2024 as that's when WWE's TV deals come up as well, so I assume they're either making money or they're going to only keep increasing revenue year over year to get there. But even then, if the only thing stopping them last year was the games division, I assume they're in good standing.

And this might be a hot take, I'm not sure, but if Cody was asking for the same money CM Punk was getting? I'm sorry, but Cody, you are not CM Punk, and CM Punk himself has more than earned his cash this year for the work he's putting in all over the place. You deserve cash, but there's a reason Punk got more money than you, if that was the dealbreaker than it was, I really don't blame Khan for standing pat.

There would be no AEW without a lot of people. The Bucks, Kenny, and namely, Tony Khan and his vision and connections to get a mainstream wrestling company off the ground and in a very good position Cody absolutely helped lay the groundwork, but the dude asking for CM Punk money after a down year and a half, imo, wasn't the right move. CM Punk gets that kind of money for a reason and he's been proving it. I think if Cody valued himself in the same light and Khan stood pat, it is what it is. A lot has changed in 3 years. Cody made the decision he thought was best, so did Tony. Doesn't seem to be a lot of tension in the decisions either, just is what it is.

Bumping this because All Out's numbers were finalized. Beat the previous PPV high by 41 percent with 205K plus buys. The show grossed 10 million dollars total.
Gonna say that's both a win and easy to see why Tony isn't worried about signing more talent on to deals right now.

Some peeps definitely bought it on the prospect they'd see Cole or Bryan debut, I imagine even more people bought the thing when they found out they did. It deserves the number for sure, it was a great PPV damn near top to bottom and the debuts were clean. Revolution's building off of it very well with its own card. Not sure if it'll reach this number... but I can't see how it wouldn't be close.

The new yearly deal with a "free" PPV included coulg see big increase for revolution.

Look at Dixie Carter. It got so bad that her own goddman parents had to step in and started supervising her spending habits. Now that a money mark.
