This comes off the news that their TV Ratings were also up about 30% from last year as well
Pretty awesome to see, and this is even before their new deal comes in 2023, glad to see they're only growing. I remember last year the only reason they weren't in the complete green last year was the in house video game division, curious how that continues to look as well.

I remember the concern trolling last year with people intentionally misinterpreting the only reason AEW wasn't in the black was they made a 10 million investment in the games division and misrepresenting that as AEW being 10 million in the red.

Not too bad for pissant t-shirt company.
Are we still doing that, or is it considered punching down at this point?

Not too bad for pissant t-shirt company. Are we still doing that, or is it considered punching down at this point? Given the state of NXT and the amount of former NXT talent now just flooding AEW?? No, that's just karma imo in the end. And no I'm not happy with what happened to NXT either but probably not a good idea to talk shit like that and then say "It's a marathon, not a sprint" when the future isn't certain...

I have to say, Triple H did a bang up job developing AEW's talent pool.

People also said certain streaming deals like IWTV or Space TV, international TV deals, might not be factored into this final number so they could have easily made more than what's listed here which is even cooler if so.

Next Year: AEW profits down 50 million dollars, Danhausen took it, said it was "good enough" for his down payment

I mean WWE still punches down, literally last week Roman said "If I were in WCW, everyone would be happy, because they'd still be in business", and WCW's been literally dead for over 20 years... so WWE getting their yuck yucks in at AEW's expense thinking they'd be a pan flash and it almost immediately turning into a legitimate wrestling company exceeding all expectations and downright outdrawing them in some territories ("We run new York!"), is really funny.

It's hilarious when you hear people in WWE complaining that AEW isn't playing fair because they don't need to make money since they're owned by a billionaires. Tony could easily run this as purely a passion project but he got into this partly because he saw a business opportunity and if he continues at his current pace, he'll add a good chunk of dollars to his family's fortune.

20million... Wow I should start a wrestling company When Tony Khan presented his plan to TNT and said "Now is a great time to start a wrestling company", he wasn't kidding, at least the way he was able to do it lol It really is a fanbase that was starved for an alternative for well over a decade, especially with how TNA flopped when they tried it. People said for years if someone with enough money came along and put enough of a plan together, could convince a network? There would be a number 2 company in the world. I just don't think we expected it to happen as f***ing quickly as it did, once the plan was in place... but again, that's how much a lot of the fandom of wrestling wanted a Non-WWE legitimate mainstream alternative. Hell Ring of Honor was getting about 300-400K viewers on average with their Sinclair syndication deal. I truly think if someone else came around, or in the mythical pipedream that HHH decides to leave WWE and start his own company, you could get a pretty consistent viewerbase if you got on a good enough channel... cause hell even Impact and soon to be again New Japan do well enough on AXS TV... You never know, but AEW proved it's not impossible at all, and there's more talent out there than ever to realistically build a new company roster around, it's crazy.
