The situation with Cody and Jericho got me thinking; Sting has, IMO, been well utilized. But he is another case where his purpose has arguably been well fulfilled-he moved some merch and got some rub on a new star. So he is another case where they would be just as well served to let his contract quietly expire and let him walk into the subset. But that raises the question of what should become of Darby afterward. And while he is more than capable of going solo, it occurs to me a possibly perfect alternative is there in teaming him with the newly arrived Danhausen.
To start with, the aesthetic is a spot on match. The face paint, the dark/gothic imagery, the eccentric ring persona, etc. But also I could envision the possibility of them making a classic pairing in terms of Darby taking care of the heavy lifting in the ring and Danhausen taking care of things on the mic. And it would be a good way of keeping up the momentum of Danhausen’s surprise debut while keeping Darby in a prominent position until a ripe time to go solo is presented.
Thoughts?

Are you trying to kill my love for Danhausen? Because that's how you kill my love for Danhausen.

I think they'd work better feuding, but Darby would have to go heel to do it, as Danhausen works best as a comedy face who think he is a heel.
A sort of 'you ridicule my lifestyle' deal.

No, having him come out for no rhyme or reason with about six other goobers and hang around bored at ringside is definitely the best use of him.

Sounds cool, but there's an even better idea brought up in the Danielson/Moxley thread: Danielsonhausen

So give him an interview segment, have him talk or do something so people not glued to the internet can try to figure out who or what he is. This does nothing for him at all.

If MJF ever turns face (which should be a long way off), I'd like a Rock 'n Sock style tag team with him and Danhausen or OC.

I feel like this requires Darby's character to have a substantial sense of humour, and I feel like his entire gimmick would snap in two if he did

Darby COULD work, in the sense that Danhausen definitely would be best suited paired with someone who can play the role of the straight man to his shenanigans.
I still like my idea of Danhausen being the Kryptonite to The House of Black. Not out of skill, but just sheer dumb luck. Danhausen appears and then suddenly Brody King slips in the ring and rams his head into the ring post. Black misses a kick and lands on his ass. This goes on for so long that they all get the "oh no. This guy again" look when he's in their vicinity.
It would either be great or be awful, but the idea of Danhausen absolutely wrecking the meanest and most eeeeeeeeevil of factions in AEW just by existing would be hilarious.

The thing is, I can see Darby as getting along in a general way with Danhausen, just because Danhausen is punk as f***.
