Regardless of what people will think, and man I'm not going to read any of the other discussion after this post;
Bryan Danielson finally winning the Bryan Danielson award feels right.

I know some people don’t like it but Danhausen should have won Best Gimmick. He basically willed himself into one of the top merchandise movers in all wrestling and an AEW contract.

Yeah, this is what's to be expected given the target audience of these awards. With that said, I think some of the story is in the actual nominations - like for instance, Edge didn't even crack the top ten for "best promo" which to me seems absolutely wacky, meanwhile Michael Cole almost won worst announcer over Corey while Adnan Virk was third. Even if he was new, worst has to be Adnan or Kevin Gill. I'm so tired of Michael Cole not getting his flowers.
Some of 'em are spot on, others I think are a nice reminder that all of this is just a popularity contest.

I really wish Anthony Bowens won most improved. That’s who I voted for.
CMLL is lucky that no one watches them/cares about their product. They are so beyond bad. Way worse than WWE. WWE, while deserving of some negative awards, is just popular. Which means more people see them so they just associate them with being the worst. They’re not.

They got most of the winners right. I know some people will lose their minds over these but AEW had a great year. My main qualms are that I think certain people vote off of their memory and aren't watching every week. I'm not Cole or Grave's biggest fans but Striker was actively terrible this year and should have won worst announcer. And on the other end of the spectrum, I think Heyman has been coasting for a while and fairly boring over the past year. I thought Callis was a clear top choice. My other issue is not enough people watch Stardom because if they did, they could've chipped away at some of the top spots.

The last person to win Best Technical Wrestler not named Bryan Danielson or Zack Sabre Jr is Chris Benoit. Shows how long they’ve dominated that category.

I don't get the EVIL as 'Most Overrated'? Who's rating House of Torture EVIL? No one! 'Worst use of talent' or 'Most Overused' would make more sense. To me, overrated means that the consensus says that they are good, but you don't see it/get it. Nobody is saying this incarnation of EVIL is good.

I saw the vote count, and there's something funny about Rey Fenix winning best high flyer with 619 votes.

Most overrated/underrated should be worded as “pushed.” That’s how Dave explains the award and how people are suppose to vote. Why he doesn’t change it, well, that’s just Dave. But your assumption is totally correct.

I think he should either drop the overrated/underrated category, explain it better, or rename it.

I think if we have most improved performer, there should also be most improved promotion. My two cents.

At least with AAA you know a cluster is going to happen

Bron Breakker should be Rookie of the Year. He might be next year, he wasn't considered this year due to the timeframe.

Dave spelled out in his announcement of the awards that Bron Breakker and Hook were not eligible due to their first match being after the cut-off, which is some time in September, I think. They will very likely be the top two next year.

Not to make this a thing between fanbases, but is Punk really outperforming Roman/Brock in the box office?
