IIRC, Rashid got confirmed as part of the first wave of DLC? That's good, at least, I was sort of worried "another wind gimmick, does that mean he's gone?" Since yeah, out of the newcomers in 5, I did like Rashid.

Akira too I suppose but she’s an existing character so I sort of file her separately from the other newcomers.

I liked a few of the new characters in 5, like Laura, Rashid, Kolin, Menat, Lucia, Falke, and G. Granted, Lucia and Kolin are technically not new characters (Lucia from Final Fight and Kolin was a background character in SF3), but I still liked their inclusion as playables.

Menat definitely ought to come back. And yeah, Akira's a guest, that's different, sort of like how I would not consider Abigail a new character. I guess Kolin is also not one, or Ed, but just since they were background characters. Laura would be fun, but I'd actually prefer if Sean came back.

So, initial scores and reviews are coming in and it's looking like it's good. Very good.

The word of mouth among people I know who got into the beta has been really positive, too. Complete 180 from SF5's initial reception.

Yeah, Capcom has definitely put their best foot forward.
4 and 5 both had a lot of issues in their conception before having to be scrapped and redone, essentially (Something 4 was able to do more easily, but part of why 5 went the path that it did), but 6 seems to have a much more secure foundation this go-round so they didn't have to play catch up so hard. I think it also helps that they are being more daring here, changing up looks, the characters' lives, etc.

Also leans into Street Fighter's strengths more than 5's story mode that just... did not have enough meat on it because barely anything ever happens in Street Fighter's stories. They're not MK or KOF or even Tekken about that kind of thing, nor do they need to be, but that's why Arcade should have been a priority, and toss the story mode in later, not the other way around.

After seeing so many of Capcom's other franchises make big come backs and/or reach new heights in the last six years, its nice that SF has reached that level too. If there's another solid entry in the Marvel vs series and the last vestiges of the company's dark age will be gone.

Battle Network selling HUGE is great, but they still really need to find a way to translate that success into something new. Though, I'd still settle for "Hey, here's Mega Man Legends 1, 2, and Misadventures of Tron Bonne in a collection, show us you really want 3."

Yeah Mega Man definitely feels like the one that's closest to a very safe holding pattern. There's still two hypothetical collections to go (Legends & Star Force) and after that there's effectively no where else to go except for new games. Battle Network 7 arguably makes the most financial sense, but a MM 12 or even the fabled MM X9 would be the really interesting choice.

I'm still sad we never got a third Mega Man ZX game. I really liked the Biometal system and more Metroidvania-style map layout.

They better have my waifu Lucia as DLC soon. Upgrade her to Interpol with Chun Li, but ideally I’d keep her baton barrage as that was a sick combo ender.

But yeah, as much as I liked SF5's roster and got the game when it was a completed product, I never really gelled with the actual gameplay. I just never really got the hang of the whole V Skill/V Trigger thing.
SF6 sounds like its systems are a lot more intuitive.

Drive Parry is actually pretty easy once you get the timing right, and it refills your meter. So far it feels like a mix of SFV Champion Edition’s rewarding the player for being aggressive and Third Strike’s defensive options.

I do wish the starting roster was a bit bigger, though.

Would definitely like to see more 3rd Strike and Alpha characters at somepoint.
Specially those we haven't seen in awhile like Sodom, Sean, Remy etc.
