Dominick while not good on the mic is not that bad. This was not Rhonda's Rebecca promo or anything like that. He is decent in ring and I think with a strong push people would get behind him. Have him beat Priest for the US title and have a run as a fighting champion while Damion moves into a more main event role. Because shoving somebody who's clearly only where they are because of family connections down audiences' throats has never backfired in the past, right?

It's why I was asking because, well, if you're going to rush up people with name value, you might as well not have developmental, you know?
Like, The Rock's daughter is still in developmental and I can imagine they were itching to bring her up first chance they got but I'd be surprised if Rock didn't personally say she'd stay there and earn her stripes remembering what happened to him when he was thrown out there after barely any training and had everyone say "Cheer for him, he's the son of Rocky Johnson!"

I believe one of the big reasons they got Rey to sign with WWE and not AEW during its start up period was that he wanted Dom to work alongside him. I’m guessing he didn’t want him to have an NXT run and hoped he’d just be a natural? And while he’s ok in the ring, a lot of stuff like physical charisma and character work is not something Dom’s not picking up very well.

They have shown remarkable patience to not bring her up to market her as the first ever 4th generation superstar. You’re right though. Rock has that kind of power. He’s an untouchable.

Some of y'all are way too invested in how Dom "looks".
His shortcomings are not his body, or his face, or anything like that. And the focus on it is really disturbing.
It's his lack of charisma. His cadence when cutting a promo.
Like people think "adults should look like adults" (creepy) but no one is saying anything about Hook.
Because Hook has charisma. Just standing in the background for weeks built it up. And when it came time he delivered in spades.
Can he cut a promo? Don't know. He doesn't talk. Which works perfectly for his character, because he doesn't have to. Hook's been protected, and they play to his strengths in a way I haven't seen since Goldberg in the 90's. And like then it works.
WWE hasn't done that. Rey is at fault too. If they'd played it safer with Dom, he'd be in a much better position to succeed. But it's WWE, they don't do that with even people who can cut promos and are charismatic (see: Lee, Keith)
But if we're gonna be all "Adults should looks like adults" then we're gonna have to pony up, b/c Hook could easily be in some Bel Ami porn too.
Maybe Nick Wayne should also not wrestle until he "looks like an adult"...oh wait...no one is saying that because he has charisma, and is a really good worker.
Oh yeah, two things Dominik doesn't have. Because that's the real issue.

If it wasn't for the pandemic, I would have Dom do what Rey, did: hone his craft worldwide. I mean not every son/daughter of a great wrestler is going to be a legend(Curt Henning, The Funks, Rock, Bret) but I don't think Dom is going to be David Flair or George Gulas.
