My all time favorite singer and artist. This one hurts badly.

I recently listened to his memoir, Sing Backwards and Weep. One of the most stark recollections of addiction that I’ve ever heard/read. He was just one of those talented people that had a lot of demons. RIP

He was just one of those talented people that had a lot of demons. RIP Yeah, it's a miracle he was even able to make it to 57 after all the shit he put himself through in the 90s. A true one of a kind singer, so glad I was finally able to see him live.

This is one of those dudes that even though I've never heard his music, I've always known who he was because he had such a big impact. I remember the original wave of famous grunge artists always saying they like the Screaming Trees in interviews and stuff.

I wasn't familiar with Mark Lanegan's work per se but I know someone who is a Lanegan superfan and he must be devastated.

That sucks. Screaming Trees should have been huge. They were better than Pearl Jam and Soundgarden.

His voice is wonderful and one of my faves from that group of artists. Seemed like a really good guy, too.

Definitely going to check out some of Screaming Trees and his solo work always liked the guys voice on the QOTSA records. ‘Song For The Dead’ and ‘Hangin Tree’ in particular are fantastic. RIP unfortunately to another Grunge icon.

Whiskey for the Holy Ghost is my favorite album ever... can't recommend it enough to anybody who's into dark sad bastard singer-songwriter stuff. But I really do love just about everything he did.

That sounds up my alley haha. I'm biased, but I also want to shout out his work with Mad Season. He and Layne together is just... ugggggh so good.

Loved Mad Season and realized just how far away I've gotten from listening to Grunge the last couple of years when I heard this news yesterday. RIP.
a little off topic but apparently his passing had to do with the false headline that the Queen of England died yesterday. That celeb news page apparently confused her with Queens of the Stone Age and went with it.
