Oddly I didn't notice the quiet crowd for this one like with the death triangle/house of black match, but yeah Garcia gimmick does seem to be "young guy who will put on a good match whilst losing"

Once again "Evil Brood" Jackson Vanik was there, could probably confirm this

Like I expected we would be louder but we also weren't as quiet as we were for like Starks and 10. Although I will say we were louder for Jade and Bunny.

How did the crowd react to Jade not kicking out? It feels like AEW crowds try to respectfully ignore things like that?

Curious about that too as it was in PNP, the crowd seemed to really be into that match despite the botches, especially near the end with the ejections and Bunny almost pinning Jade for real... Jade seems to work with live crowds, which is impressive, but then again she is physically just a standout.

Daniel Garcia might be a good technical wrestler but that guy is as plain and vanilla as it gets. He is a channel changer/fast forward for literally anyone who wants to be entertained. If he had a cool look or personality, maybe people would be invested in his matches more. There's only so much wrestling ability can do. And AEW have too many of these type of wrestlers. I would argue the average fan would be more interested in Brian Cage than Daniel Garcia. Yet he's nowhere to be seen. You're acting like Garcia killed the ratings when he had his match when in reality, about 950K people watched it, and that was with some pretty drastic news breaking across the world. You can throw a narrative out there all you want that he's bland, or does nothing for anyone, but Garcia imo is a really great technical wrestler who tells a great story in there, and has been put with a bevy of AEW's top guys for a reason in multiple main events across Dynamite and Rampage. He's still like 23, he's still developing as a whole, but you put these guys in these positions because you want the crowds to get introduced to them and to care. His TNT Title match with Guevara was well received, it got good reaction, as did his matches with Mox and Darby. Jungle Boy lost a whole lot too, until he didn't. It's not like the crowd actively turned on the match, or on Daniel. He did fine, it was just a no doubt kind of match with a lot of chain wrestling, which also makes crowds react differently than high spots. Garcia is also a heel, so crowds are not conditioned to cheer him, especially with Danielson asking if he put up a good fight, hence the reaction, as again, he's been portrayed as an asshole heel. And on a side note, I find it really pretentious as well, that you're telling a 23 year old that there's "Only so much wrestling ability he can do", like christ, lmfao The poster didn’t say there’s only so much wrestling ability he can do, he/she said wrestling ability can only take you so far, meaning he needs another hook as well.

That I can agree with, I think the wording was weird and I may have misinterpreted it. He's again though 23, not many wrestlers have everything at 23 like an MJF felt like he did.

There was definitely some booing but I think they got us back with the next big spot they did. So annoyed but forgiving in the end.

By my account there doesn't seem to be anything the crowd actively turned on or showed major disinterest in. I guess Starks/10 being the quietest match makes sense, as it was a very forgone conclusion and in the middle of the show. But the narrative that Garcia put the crowd to sleep should probably end at least.

I thought the crowd were pretty into this match. Not as much as others that night or as much as they were into Moxley but I wouldn't say they were disinterested.

I'm not sure exactly what people expected the crowd to be going nuts for. It was a technical match between two heels. The crowd didn't turn on it, and Garcia even got some chants. Seemed fine to me.
Also, I guess I hate entertainment, because I like Garcia and I liked the match just fine. They did cool stuff you rarely see, and a lot of really clever counters.

Would have made a more well received match opening up the card.

Would have made a more well received match opening up the card. Potentially, though Danielson being in a main event makes just as much sense I think you always open shows with Battle Royales if you're gonna do them, they're fast and frenetic, feature a whole buncha people, can catch a lot of eyes. I do get the prospect of ending the show with Mox as well, because every time Mox shows up, feels like an event anymore.
