Heyman said title unification, if Roman wins, I doubt they just drop the Universal title statistic, Vince makes some erratic choices lately. Is this possible

They might continue both lineages as a unified title like they did with the tag titles for a bit until they decide on one lineage down the line. They can do whatever they want.

They could always do what they did with RVD and have the unified champ defend and lose one title to someone else while keeping the other.
Granted, RVD's reigns got cut short by his arrest. But I get the sense it was the plan to have him lose the WWE Championship separate while continuing as the ECW Champ for awhile.

I can't imagine they are going to commit to one world title for very long. Just wait for one of the TV networks to complain that the other show is getting too many title matches compared to the other, or one show is constantly getting the PPV slots, and they'll split the titles back.
In the mean time, the winner is probably just going to carry both title belts for a while.

We've seen times that the WWE Title (the one with all the history) played second fiddle, but when they unified them before they kept the history. Hopefully they do the same here. It would break my heart to see it unified and they go with the universal history as the active history.
Then again, this is the company that retired the original tag belts with the history.

I cannot imagine that they'll actually unify them.
Heyman says things in cooler ways than intended.
Money in the Bank will be used to take the WWE Championship off Roman and it'll be back to business as usual.

Man I hate this title unification so bad.
Morale is down? Give Roman everything then! Either Roman holds the WWE title for a year until LA or he drops it quickly to get the WWE title back on Raw.
Making your Universal Champion now a loser. Bravo.
Or there’s the possibility (I guess?) that Brock wins. Man that’s going to help the morale isn’t it? Is he going to be on the show every week now?
Man this is a complete mess.

For what it's worth Roman's listed as both champions separately on the site, with a new photo holding both belts, and he's listed in both title histories, so does kind of seem unlikely if they were going to introduce a new belt they'd have to take new pictures of that they'd bother with that kind of effort.

The fact that Vince announced Austin Theory as a future Universal Champion rather than WWE champion had me a bit worried.
But I'm hoping it won't be the case.
