Post Crisis Supergirl.
Pre Crisis was Supermans cousin.
Post Crisis had a pocket universe where Superboy still existed in a Pre Crisis style Earth. Superboy here disappeared before Lex Luthor could become his enemy. When Lex came to Smallville he accidentally let loose Zod and company who devastated the planet. Lex created a protoplasm being with the mind of that Earths Lana Lang to come to our universe and recruit Superman. After beating them Superman brought her back with him. Later she merged with a human woman which also caused her to become an angel.

In World of Warcraft if you decided to pick the Forsaken Race with the Death Knight Class and you play the Wrath of the Lich King storyline...your character: died during the plague/Scourge of the Third War, was risen as a mindless undead for the Scourge, regained your mind and became basically a fully functioning zombie human and joined a faction of similar break away forces called the Forsaken, then died again and was risen again by The Lich King, and you once again brake away from his control and regained your mind and become basically a fully functioning zombie human and you join a similar break away force called the Forsaken. Then you raid the Lich King's Fortress where he kills you to raise you again in his service. But this time a paladin uses a divine intervention to win the day. And you are risen from the dead again.
Basically your character is killed and risen from the dead as a rotting corpse three times. And two of those times you overcome all the odds to use your outstanding free will to break away from god-powered mind control.

I got this from watching Dinosaur Dracula's podcast on chocolate....
Grizzly B (of the short lived Grizzly Chomps product): a bear who wears a Hawaiian shirt and talks with a Cajun accent (so OG Bray Wyatt then?) and enjoys snowboarding and other 90s activities, and works in a factory where he takes bites out of snack cakes.

Didnt DC Comics basically retire Hawkman for a time since his origin was too convoluted?

Didnt DC Comics basically retire Hawkman for a time since his origin was too convoluted? Yeah, didn't they create Zauriel because they wanted a winged character with a significantly less convoluted history?

Yeah, didn't they create Zauriel because they wanted a winged character with a significantly less convoluted history? Grant Morrison, IIRC, Wanted Hawkman for his JLA run and since Hawkman got into such a convoluted mess, DC said no. So then he created Zauriel.

The Courier... survived being shot in the head, and burried in an unmarked grave using only post-apocalyptic medicine? I call B.S. on that.

Donna Troy could give Hawkman a run for his money. Originally Wonder Girl was just teenage Wonder Woman. Then she got added to the Titans because the writers didn't know that. So they introduced Donna Troy as being a teenage girl who Wonder Woman rescued and ended up with similar powers. Simple enough, and in a world where Barry Allen and Wally West got their powers in an identical accident, not as contrived as it sounds. THEN it was changed to her being Diana's teenage clone, then an agglomeration of different Donna Troys, who was raised by space aliens related to but not the same as the Greek gods from her own comic. She was killed off briefly because she was too confusing, before being brought back, 12 different origin stories intact. Then New 52 happened and she was now Diana's evil teenage clone, which went over like a fart in church and got David Finch and his wife yeeted from the book. Then Dan Annett added her to the titans with her original backstory (at least insofar as being a classic titan) intact. Then he decided "yes she is actually the evil clone and her memories and personality were just tampered with to make her more like classic Donna" which didn't make any sense because the other Titans still remembered her and their adventures with her still happened. Eventually he left the book without fixing this discrepancy and the current M.O. seems to be "just act like she's classic little girl rescued by Diana" Donna and dont bring up all the other stuff

Didnt DC Comics basically retire Hawkman for a time since his origin was too convoluted? So Pre Crisis Hawkman was Carter Hall and his wife who were reincarnated Egyptian royalty. They made wing harnesses with enchanted metal and became heroes on Earth 2. On Earth 1 Katar Hol and his wife/partner were Hawk police from Thanagar who came to Earth hunting a criminal and became heroes. Post Crisis initially they were the same except they had always existed on the same Earth. Then DC did a mini series revising the origin of Katar Hol. It did so well that they decided to make a regular series of it and place it in the current DC. So who was the Katar we had seen since Crisis? First they said it had been Carter Hall who was the Hawkman in the modern day as well as the Justice Society. But the Society had been sent to fight Ragnarok for eternity so who was the Hawkman after he vanished? So they nade a new one who had been a Thanagarian spy. And there was something with a hero bamed Golden Eagle but I am not sure there. Finally in Zero Hour they merged all the Hawkmen into a single being but that fixed nothing. He was banned from use for awhile until the new JSA comix where they brought back Carter and just ignored talking about the past.
