Scott Hall has been in some form of another part of my wrestling conscious the entire time I’ve known of wrestling. He actually predates it even, because I remember, before knowing what the hell wrestling actually *was*, I knew of a man named Razor Ramon with slicked back hair, toothpick in his mouth, a vest, and trunks with a razor blade pattern.
For so long the Razor’s Edge was legit my favorite finisher(and is still honestly my favorite powerbomb variant to this day). From his classics with Michaels in the 90s to the Outsiders and later NWO, Scott Hall was a cornerstone piece of 90s wrestling.
Rest easy, Chico.

Yeah, this sucks. Especially after his story not being too dissimilar from Jake Roberts' own story where it was when and not if he was going to be considered a wrestling tragedy. Nobody expected him to be around in the mid 2000s, never mind now. So for it to end because of how a routine surgery went is just cruel. I can't imagine what everyone involved is going through.
I missed most of Scott's heyday so only knew him from the post-MNWs stuff and even then, I was glad he was able to get himself together after so much struggle and self doubt for so long. There were too many stories of the former when I started being a fan.

As I said this hasn't been an easy weekend. It's like we got two sets of threes, if you believe in that sort of thing. (Emilio Delgado, Traci Braxton, Timmy Thomas, William Hurt, JJ Maguire, and now this). And this year's first three months being savage to the entertainment industry in general. Like I said, makes me want to find suspended animation for the next nine months. Don't get me started on the other, FAN-banned topics that are bothering me deeply, as well as what people try to tell me about them. I'm sure the same people will have "theories" about this too.
When things like this happen, it does make me doubt certain things and wonder why are these things allowed to happen.
But...I pretty much am coming close to acceptance on this, unforuntately. As I knew when I heard "life support" that this was very probable.
It would be nice for a positive surprise...but I am just a regular, imperfect man, and I am not the one who gets to decide that. Not my will and all that.
The fact that he won't be here when he made an effort to change turns my stomach a little, honestly. As someone else said, it is like Eddie's story too. I know of others who kicked habits yet soon after, they were gone somehow. I apologize if I seemed extra angry about it elsewhere, and thanks to the people who kept that under control.
I'm glad I was able to appreciate his work in his 90s heyday especially, and even met him twice. (The video from his entrance at GCW years back is on one of the channels in my sig)
Seeing Nash's thoughts is the straw that totally broke my heart.

I tend to blank out the last 20 years or so and just think of Razor Ramon when Hall crosses my mind. I was never the biggest fan, but it's just almost impossible to think of the Bad Guy on hospital life support, or his Wikipedia entry changing from "is" to "was". Hoping for the best for the Bad Guy.

This sucks. This absolutely sucks. I've been watching a lot of early 90s WWF. Scott absolutely made Razor Ramon in a way no one else could have.

This is so depressing to hear, especially when you consider the hardships he went through and the personal battles he fought. Seeing it end this way is an awful way to go out after what the man has been through and the steps he took to get his life straightened out.
Razor Ramon was truly one of the greatest characters to ever grace the squared-circle. As he said in his speech, "Bad times don't last, but bad guys do".

Just awful.
I was hoping for a miracle, but it sounded really bad from the get-go.
Hall was a guy who didn't need a title or wins to be over as hell. That's just a testament to his charisma and talent.

Hall was a great wrestling mind who had demons that kept chasing after him until Hall confronted them and took them down, (a lot of kudos to DDP but Hall should be given the biggest praise for getting help.) It does suck that he finally got his life together and his life is snatched away. It really shows how precarious and fragile life truly is. Rest easy Scott

Growing up, he was one of the coolest motherf***ers to watch on TV. He was someone that gave me a lot of great memories. Whether it was his excellent feud with Shawn Michaels or his being an "invader" in WCW that would eventually lead to another wrestling boom, Scott Hall was always a favorite of mine.

I have the unpleasant privilege to know better than most what Nash is going through right now. I hope he has other people close to him to help him through this.
Razor Ramon was a bright spot in what even as a kid I recognised as a very dire period for WWF. The very first PPV I got had him main-eventing it (and featured both my favs Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels winning and thus retaining their titles, so it's always been a favourite of mine), and I still had the VHS tape of that PPV until I moved to Australia (even with like ten seconds of Hart/Ramon overwritten because my little sister tried to tape a tv show over it before I lunged over and stopped the VCR). I never saw what he did in WCW for various reasons, but it didn't surprise me that Nash and Hall were such a big deal, since they so obviously exuded star power even when muddling along in a creatively bankrupt WWF.
This is a tragedy, but... if there is a bright side, it's that he did get himself sober and in a better place for these last few years. Many wrestlers never did. Many people never do. If he'd died ten years ago, even five, it would be even more tragic because he didn't get to live again first. That's my feeling on it, anyway.
And, again, I hope people are looking out for Nash and other loved ones who will be devastated by this.

So sad that this has happened after he finally managed to get his issues sorted and get his life turned around.
He's one of those people where just reading about his achievements and title wins doesn't give you a true picture of how many fans he had, how important he was to wrestling and how influential he was to future wrestlers.

I'm going to watch his bit with The Giant on Starrcade '97 tonight. I don't know why, but that is one of my favorite bits he did... he called him Frankengoof and it made me laugh so hard.

I’m really angry about this. Guy turns his whole life around and escapes persistent death watch only to fall victim to hip replacement surgery complications? This world sucks.

11 years ago, I saw the Scott Hall E:60 documentary. Everyone including Scott himself thought at that time that his death was imminent. It was the saddest documentary of a wrestler I had seen at that time.
Then, the biggest surprise happened. Three years later, he was welcomed back to the WWE with open arms and inducted into the Hall of Fame. In that time since then, he looked alive again. One of my favorite highlights in the past few years was seeing the nWo once more at Wrestlemania 31. Yes they were helping Sting (which made no sense), but to hear that music with Hogan air guitaring, Nash holding the Kilq sign, and Hall doing his strut, I felt like a kid again.
It was absolutely criminal he never got to hold a heavyweight title in WCW or WWE, but he solidified himself as the Man in both of these companies, or should I say the Bad Guy.
Once more, DDP deserves every good thing in the universe. For him to take it upon himself to turn this man's life around speaks volumes for him as a human being. Because of him, we got a few more memories of Scott.
He wasn't a saint by any means. People were hurt because of him, especially his loved ones. My regret since being on this forum in the early 2010s was making fun of his alcoholism. I apologize for this now knowing how precious and serious a person's sobriety is.
Nevertheless, he went to hell and back to regain the love and trust of many. He was at rock bottom, and built himself back up from it.
When we see nWo or Kliq appearances, there will now be an obvious absence. No doubt the toothpick industry will suffer. Godspeed, Scott Hall.

I'm going to watch his bit with The Giant on Starrcade '97 tonight. I don't know why, but that is one of my favorite bits he did... he called him Frankengoof and it made me laugh so hard. I loved his feud with Larry Zbyzsko and how they would get into these pull-aparts and Hall got Larry over. Reading the news yesterday was heartbreaking, godspeed Scott Hall.
