I always thought Elix Skipper was pretty entertaining in WCW and TNA, whatever happened to him since he left TNA, is he still wrestling anywhere?

Wikipedia describes him as retired. His last match on Cagematch was 9/1/09 against Tyler Black in NWA No Limits in Iowa. The wikipedia article also notes this grim detail en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elix_Skipper

I did a quick little google search and it seems he's been a Cracker Barrel manager since 2018. Not sure if that's still accurate, of course.

He retired in 2009. The kind of career he had for a mere 10 years is really impressive. The reasons I think his career didn't last longer were probably a combination of him arriving on the scene when he was already in his 30s, which, combined with the style he had, is quite surprising. So, when TNA released him, I wonder if he just decided that was more or less time to hang up his boots.
Secondly, and this is unfortunately dark: his son was apparently murdered in 2009. That also may have been a contributing factor, especially given wrestling's legendary difficulty on families in the best of times. If his priorities had shifted and he just decided wrestling wasn't one of them anymore, I can't say I'd be surprised.

That cage walk is still one of the best things I ever seen in wrestling.
