It’s a shame he’s being fired already for not getting Chaka Khan.
I don’t make the rules.

There’s no reason he can’t be AEW’s answer to someone like Kofi or Lashley.
I’d say he can be an even bigger star than them.

Shane is the dude. He was one of the best parts of LU as Killshot, and I have no doubt he will be a great get for AEW.

My only issue with him when he was Killshot is his trunks looked like a pair of Hanes

It's difficult to say if he'd be a pillar but the guy has major upside. He was badly misused in WWE, could've easily become an IC or US champ but instead they stuck him in a group that was doomed to fail from the beginning. I look forward to see what he can do in AEW

I've watched him since LU, and am excited to see who he wrestles in AEW.
This is a definite step up from feuding with Jinder Mahal and Shanky on Smackdown.

Tbh the pillars concept is a joke. Sammy G is never gonna be on the level of MJF or Darby. Jungleboy is over enough to get there but it's definitely not going to be quick. Darby and Sammy are closer to Adam Page in age than they are to MJF and Jungleboy. It's something that maybe made sense when people first started thinking of these guys as a cohort but as we get further into the deep waters in AEW it seems more and more forced I think MJF stands out from the 4 because he's really the full package (great wrestler, excellent promo, looks and acts the part etc) but as far as in ring work I'd argue Sammy has been the MVP of 2022 so far and has been putting on an incredible run of matches as of late Dustin at battle of the belts Ladder match with Cody Andrade Darby Andrade and Darby on Rampage 6 man match last night All at least 4+ star matches and arguably 3 of them are 5 star matches, are we're 2 months into the year

I like that he's combining his previous two ring names as Swerve Strickland. Dude's gonna be a star. he didn’t combine anything he was always Shane “Swerve” Strickland before he went to WWE

Been a fan of Swerve since he showed up as an awkward skinny kid in CZW using the Jackson 5 for his entrance. He's one guy I've watched grow into a premiere talent that jump started the rebirth of MLW and the birth of Defy and I'll never understand how Vince thought Swerve should be thrown in the background for Top Dolla to be made the star (no disrespect to AJ Francis just Swerve is that dude)

I’ve never seen him in action, since he joined NXT around when I stopped watching.
I wonder if I should seek him out or wait to be surprised when he tears it up.

There were a lot of WWE releases where I was like “eh, I get it. It’s a bloated roster.” But then you got to some names where you’re like “hey wait a minute this person was super young and fresh and new and we haven’t even begun to tap into their potential yet.” Aleister Black was a big one there. Tegan Nox comes to mind. Leon Ruff. And Swerve was another. All of Hit Row, obviously. It’s gonna be exciting to watch what he does. And it’s on Tony Khan to not f*** this up.

Go watch his stuff from LU a whole different character and you get to see him do whole lot of different things but all of them lead him to who he is now and the best match of his whole career is on that show. And also LU is largely his origin story because it was his first time ever working an actual tv show , first time he ever worked under a mask so you get to really see his journey. Hell ALOT of the top guys and gals now have their origins in LU.

Always enjoyed Killshot in Lu but never paid attention to him in WWE honestly. Might have watched a promo or two online
Dude really come out as a star, the charisma is undeniable

Yeah he would have been. He's part of the "New Era Pillars" as I'm going to call em and that's him, Keith Lee and 2 others. I always considered the Pillar to be Young Guys that are the future. So I have considered a few as the Future Pillars So personally for me Its HOOK, Ricky Starks, Daniel Garcia and Lee Moriarty. Maybe Ricky Starks is too old or around too long for (my personal criteria).Plus it could always change For me Swerve and Keith Lee are like Orange Cassidy when AEW started, he wasnt a pillar but he was a core identity of the company.

I would have made him the first official signing for ROH. Show people the show isn’t going to be an afterthought.
He was already booked for SuperCard.

He should have come in as Buck Strickland. During matches he can clutch his chest to fool his opponent and yells “Hank, I’m havin’ an infarction!”

Legit question: What's similar about Kofi and Lashley other than being black? Legit other question: What makes Swerve similar to those two other than being black? None of these guys look alike or wrestle similar styles or have similar personalities.

Hopefully he gets some time to shine on a consistent basis, they did something like this with Jay Lethal and he's been mostly on Dark/Elevation.
