I gotta agree. That's really one thing (well Edge has been hitting everything out of the park since he's returned) that I've noticed. He can sell salt to a slug out there. Everything dude says and does screams "conviction."

It's not like I disagree with how good a worker Edge is, but I have not felt the last two weeks at all. It's felt like he's trying way too hard. The turn was so abrupt, and dumb after a turn literally just happened, and last week was ruined by that abysmal mood lighting.
Again, not so much disagreeing with the point, because Edge IS awesome at this, I'm not a fan of this particular angles execution so far.
And whoever keeps doing those extreme camera closeups of Edge's f***ing face (Dunn), stop it, PLEASE stop it lmfao

We all rightly clown on how bad a stable La Familia was, but I remember Edge having conviction even when he was selling stuff regarding that nonsense. It's stuck with me over a decade later, that this guy could go out there in the midst of one of the worst stables in WWE's history, and still feel like the biggest star in WWE.

A decade ago, I remember one of the most insufferable heat-killing elements of WWE's rote booking was how heels could interchangeably go from being cowardly cheaters to vicious sadists from week to week with no consistency. Edge was pretty much the only guy who was able to make it seem like natural facets of the same character rather than bad writing.

I haven't seen any of his current work, but this was most of what always sold me on Edge being one of my top favorites in his heyday. No matter what he was out there doing, he integrated everything he did flawlessly into his character and sold it like a pro.

The man came back and has put on some of the best work of his career without question
He can sell you on anything he is doing and you always feel the intensity anytime be comes out. He never takes any moment for granted and a lot of wrestlers an learn from him in just how interacts and throws himself into his work

Edge was never “ The Guy.” But he made a fantastic foil for “ The Guy.” Be it Cena, Batista, Undertaker, etc. And that is a very important job.

Over the last few years since returning his storylines are the stuff I've remembered most, they have actually felt like angles in a sea of "this thing happens 50 times over and over until something else happens" house show stuff. Even if his current gimmick/storyline with AJ goes full goofy Edge is gonna make it work by putting 1000% into it.

Bray Wyatt was really good at this too (pre fiend days obviously)
It's why I love his match against the Undertaker... watching Bray as Undertaker comes out he goes from shock that undertaker is actually there... fear that he is going to have to actually wrestle the Undertaker.... to a determined this is what I wanted I got this... all in the span of like 10 seconds.
I think it's one of the bigger reasons his nonsense promos and get out of booking free time as the Cult Leader Bray annoyed me so much... he clearly could have been doing so much more... but instead we got literal nonsense promos that meant nothing but sounded spooky, and completely meaningless feuds that ended and started at random.

Edge is an absolutely grade A actor and performer when it comes to the wrestling world, and he’s been doing the best work of his career the last two years.

Edge is great but I just can't buy him as a heel anymore.
The comeback story and legendary status will never allow for it.

Edge is making chicken salad out of chicken crap right now. The pumped in boos, the mood lighting & closeups so we can’t see the crowd cheering him. He’s trying to be a heel, but nobody dislikes him.
The new standard for great wrestler has become “can overcome horrible WWE booking”

I really don't get how anyone can say Edge should've just stayed retired, because other than a couple hiccups his return has been fantastic. It's gone way better than I thought it would.

Oh, Edge is fantastic as a performer, the problem is he's in WWE run by Vince.

Edge isn't on Mount Rushmore for WWE or anything, but I think he's definitely in the conversation for one of the top 10 or 20 runs of all time. I'm most excited for AJ vs. Edge at Mania right now.

Would I have done it how they did? F*** no, it's cliché as hell. On the flip side, AJ/Edge is still AJ/Edge. I'm not mega invested in the build to WrestleMania but if I did watch, I'd 100% expect them to do magic together because it's AJ Styles and Edge. Bad matches involving the two are few and far between.

Cult leader Bray is always the biggest missed opportunity in my eyes. He should have been the easiest character to book and somehow, some way, they pissed down their leg at every turn

I disagree with a lot of the plays so to speak that they've called for Edge during this run but he executes what he's given incredibly well.
