I think I've seen 2 actual sac flies this postseason. The fact that you can't get a runner home from 3rd with 0 outs in a close game in a tied WS is an indictment on the state of the game. Phillies pen a little taxed. Nola only went 5, Thor went 3. They're gonna need Wheeler to go deep into next game, regardless of the outcome here. I feel like there's a very real possibility the league brought back the "juiced" balls for the postseason. I get it, home run heavy teams often make the playoffs, so numbers would be up due to that, but it's jarring how much things seemed to spike once October rolled around. Look, I just need Houston to win because I can't abide watching them roll over and die for yet another non-Mets NL East team...because God knows if the Mets managed to make the Fall Classic next year and face the Astros, suddenly Houston would go ham and win in 5 or whatever. Well, they're also playing in some of the tiniest parks in the majors. Yankee Stadium and Citizen's Bank are bandboxes. Only GAB and Coors are comparable hitters parks. Minute Maid isn't much better with that shallow wall in left. If they were playing in San Fran, St. Louis, Detroit, etc the balls wouldn't be leaving the park.

Feels like situational hitting has been completely lost in favor of huge swings and homers or bust.

Im probably wrong about this and I’m not quite sure about the numbers because I’m too lazy to look, but I keep hearing that, analytics keep saying that it’s better to just try and hit home runs most of the time now. That’s why you’ve seen the rise of the four true outcome hitter. That and extreme shifting has caused that too, which is thankfully being restricted or banned. But to me, that mindset has really hurt baseball, IMO.

Worth noting, the umps this series have been stellar. Normally they only get noticed when they f*** up, but even on really, really close calls this series, they are nailing it.

I was just praising the umps, but the strike zone this game is all over the place.

Peña drives one up the middle. Altuve on 3rd representing the tying run.

Air Yordan blasting off with a monstrous home run. Astros up 3-1.

Unreal HR. 30 feet up from dead centerfield wall. Can't remember the last time I saw so many guys coming out of the dugout on a non-walkoff. The camera cutting to the Phils dugout was downright depressing.

The problem with your entire offense getting hot at once is that nobody is due when you start to cool off. Hoskins, Realmuto, Castellanos, etc hit a wall.

It’s cool, Astros fam! Dusty will never blow a 3-2 World Series lead with a late-inning game 6 lead!

It's not the World Series I wanted, but I prefer the Astros winning over the Phillies.

To think, the Dodgers once had Yordan Álvarez.
