Man, how far Gary Sanchez's stock plummeted. Heard about him for years as THE ace prospect. Then he just lost it in 2020 and it never came back.
Though this seems to be a common story for the Yanks' farm system. Aaron Judge is really just the exception to the rule.

Who's going to be catcher on the Yankees? Higashioka is good as a backup but I can't see him being everyday catcher. I don't think it's the worst idea in the world to get a catch-first, hit-second catcher in free agency. Sanchez had to go. You'll likely see him DH in Minnesota because he's just not a major-league caliber catcher. Sad to see Ursh go. He's one of the few bargain basement moves that Cashman made the worked to perfection. What this move does is put is put LeMahieu back on 2nd base where he belongs, and opens the door for another trade centered around Torres, (Preferably Matt Olson) Donaldson is a d-bag to the inth degree and probably isn't well-suited for 3B for long, but Kiner-Falefa is a utility guy that adds some flex. The 50m price tag is a bit much, but if it means we won't see Sanchez lazily going after passed balls, it'll be worth it.

Though this seems to be a common story for the Yanks' farm system. Aaron Judge is really just the exception to the rule. Yankees basically got rid of every catcher they had because Gary was supposed to be THE GUY Yankees have crowned multiple guys coming out their system and while some have been good, none has been great outside of Judge. Phil Hughes, Joba Chaimberlain, Gary Sanchez, hell they had Montero and moved him because Gary was coming (thank god they did) etc.... In regards to Yankee catching situation now. Higgy will get more work and I assume they want to see what either Siegler or Wells can do I assume they will give Ben Rortvedt a chance. But since there are no catchers to sign really, whoever they do get if they are still on Rizzo/Freeman, they will try to move Voit for a Catcher I can see them being creative. Padres have catching but also want to get rid of Hosmer. Yankees could still use a LH Bat and if you absorb a decent part of his contract you can basically acquire him a Catcher for nothing

Phillies really need to do something that isn't signing Familia and considering bringing back Herrera. They've really killed the fanbases enthusiasm for this season in two f***ing days
Reports are Dombrowski has been instructed to not go over the Tax (Shocker, cheap f***ing franchise) but there's still enough room where they can make big splash signings and maybe some trades as well. But they really, really need to do something. Bryant, Schwarber, and Castellanos are still out there, and they really need at least two of them... if they can get Chapman from the A's even better
I'd really rather have Vierling in CF than Herrera, or try and trade for someone, it's just bad vibes and bad PR, like we gotta be better than this...

Donaldson’s underlying numbers last year were great. That’s probably why Cashman got him but surprised he’d pay the entire salary. He is 36-37 the next two seasons and his previously great defense has slipped due to age/injuries. He could easily fall off hard as early as this coming season. Pretty risky.

I am not sure what Donaldson has left, but god dam it, addition by subtraction at worse getting rid of Sanchez, can't complain about that.

Phillies have signed Knebel, Familia, and Hand to deals... the Bullpen's either finally going to be a decent middle ground that finally holds its own, or it's going to implode again, I don't see an in between lmfao
They also signed Herrera back. Better have been cheap. Vierling also deserves way more time at the position if they're going to platoon
They really still need to get Bryan or Castellanos, like if they whiff on them and Schwarber, I think Bryce Harper's mood is gonna start shifting here. I'd also try and get a trade done for Chapman if you don't have to end up selling the farm for him... Phillies fans desperately need some good news here, they're so tired of an owner who is too scared of the f***ing tax.

Tatis out 3 months with a broken wrist. Dude’s the Glassman. The good and bad of signing guys like him to record deals. Never know how injuries will take place and hinder the team. They need him to compete for a WS

F***ing no. This was such a shit rule last year, no one wants to see it and this should have been cut and dry. Let people actually enjoy this damn game please.
