I'd add the 3 stages of Hell vs Austin to that list. I'd also add the last man standing with Jericho and the Raw tag match when he got injured. His Jan 2000-May 2001 run is one of the all-time greatest. He had many great matches after the quad tear but before that he was on an absolute tear (no pun), capable of having great matches with all kinds of opponents anywhere on the card and making them look good. I remember the Smackdown after he won the title from Big Show he faced Rikishi. Didn't look like an exciting match on paper as it was in that period after Rikishi debuted but before he had really gotten over with the dancing gimmick yet. The match was so good though that they're molten hot by the end and Rikishi overnight is one of the most popular stars in the company who a few weeks later at the RR will have the whole of MSG on their feet. He had a match with Taka that was under 10 min, but he bumped around like a ping pong ball and for just a *split* second, you thought he might actually be had that night

Absolute legend. There are definitely a couple black spots on his legacy but I defy you to name anyone who doesn't. Can't lie, he was the first wrestling heel I truly hates in an "I want someone to wipe the snug smile off this asshole's face" sort of way. His 99/2000 heel run is probably one of my favorite Lol time heel runs

Fact fans - first Smackdown show in its entirety in the UK! One weekend suddenly Sky started showing Smackdown and it was great. His Last Man Standing with Jericho is another great match. And of course the 10 men tag from RAW - HHH, X-Pac, Benoit, Malenko and Saturn w/ Eddie Guerrero vs The Rock, Cactus Jack, Rikishi and 2 Cool.

Simply a phenomenal career.
Yeah, he politicked a lot, was never as legendary a star as presented and had his fair share of really long boring promos.
But hell, how many other pro wrestlers in history were as over as he got? How many worked both so hot as a face and so hot as a heel? How many have the sheer quantity of good-to-great matches as Trips did? I'm sure you can pick some, but out of the hundreds and hundreds of thousands that laced up their boots?
That's before you add on the executive and back stage stuff. 99.99% of pro wrestlers would love to have a career like he did.
I hope he can make further recovery and be able to bounce back in that backstage role once again. The details were scary and no wonder he's not been around much.

HHH/Batista was one of WWE's top 5 angles ever.

One of my, I dunno, 5 favorite WWE guys EVER (Austin, HBK, Angle, Edge, Trips...in some order)
Politics and bullshit aside he goes down as one of the greats.

I "fondly" remember the time he completely buried Booker T in a needlessly race bait filled feud.

I of course will nominate most of what he did after being a full time wrestler. The original NXT. Having that magic wand that convinced people like Bruno and Warrior to work with the company again.
Not everyone will agree, but please, WWE, find some things of this nature for him to do post-career! Sadly I doubt it as they probably see him as the guy who lost to AEW ...

I'll say that his Wrestlemania 30 entrance may be my favorite ever. They just leaned into everything about Hunter, a culmination of the character, from the Blue Blood to the Authority.

2000/01 Hunter has a least 3, 5-Star Matches(IMHO) under his belt: Vs. Cactus(RR 2000), Vs. Rock(Backlash 2000) & The Iron Man match against the Rock. I'd add the 3 stages of Hell vs Austin to that list. What a match. I like a lot of his mid 2000s work too. And I love the hell in a Cell with taker

Its always sad when a wrestler is forced o retire. It doesn't matter if you loved the guy or hated him. At the end of the day he is a father and a husband. HHH was never one of my favorites at times I couldn't stand him, The Reign of Terror turned me away from him for the longest time. With that being said, there been matches he was in that was great. 99/01 (Until his quad) The guy was on fire with delivering matches and was one of the best heels in wrestling, honestly nobody was able to touch him as a heel. There was a time that I was a a fan of him from D-X to the quad. I was glad he was able to return from the quad but it was also that period time where he just wasn't the same guy and took a while for him to get his groove back. The match with HBK at Summerslam still one of my favorites. THe reign of Terror happened and I couldn't stand him not because he was a heel, but the character just didn't connect with me. HHH lived and breathed wrestling, no question about it. At times he was great if not the best. Other times he wasn't and some of his political stuff drew me away. But I always respected what he could do in the ring. While I have mixed feeling on HHH. I can't deny he is a legend, a HOFer, and one of the best to ever do it.

Man, I hated this guy on TV, but you loved to hate him. He was that damn. Good.
Triple H was as important to the success of the Attitude Era as Rock, Austin, Foley, and Taker. You needed someone to go against these guys to make them. Triple H was the perfect person to be that guy.
When the transition to the Ruthless Aggression Era happened, Triple H took the reins of leadership as the King of Kings as we prepared for Cena, Orton, and Batista.
Then he became the COO to help Reigns, Bryan, Rollins, Ambrose, and Lesnar in this era while changing how developmental wrestling is presented. With NXT, we saw sort of a genius with Triple H in regards to presentation and eyes for talent.
It is indeed the end of an era. Obviously his reputation is mixed with him being part of the Kliq, orchestrating Montreal, and some difficulties with other wrestlers (Rock and Punk.)
Nevertheless, he is one of the best to ever lace up a pair of boots. He love this “dis business”. He lived it. He bled it. He married it.
We’ll miss him in the ring, but wrestling is as it is today because of Triple H.

Never a massive fan of the character but I can’t deny the amount of great matches he had. And some absolute bores as well but he’s not the only one to have stinkers.
Vs HBK at Summerslam 02 and Raw 03 Vs Bryan Mania XXX Vs Cactus Jack Rumble 00 Vs Cactus Jack Hell In A Cell No Way Out 00 Vs Jericho Fully Loaded 00 Vs Taker at Mania…well I like all of them actually. Vs Batista Hell In A Cell Vengeance 05 Vs Orton LMS No Mercy 2007 Vs Rock Backlash 00 Vs HBK vs Benoit Mania XX
All great matches I’m sure there is more I’m forgetting. Great rivalries with Rock, Foley & HBK in particular. He also made Batista with that great storyline.

This day feels absolutely surreal to me. My parents ordered WrestleMania 12 on PPV for my 4th birthday. Triple H has been an active wrestler for almost as long as I've been alive. He's always been a presence in my life and fandom on some level.
I don't think it can be stated enough that even if he didn't marry Stephanie, he likely would've excelled and had a great career anyway because, in his own words, he's that damn good.
