On the one hand, your employment with WWE is essentially on a rolling 90-day contract (30-day in NXT), so I understand the desire to keep your social media presence a personal one, rather than simply a kayfabe one because it’s important to keep your name out there as an independent contractor.
On the other, there have been a number of WWE personnel over the years - with Quincy being the latest - who seem to simply not possess the required maturity to have a social media presence and their usage of it has been nothing but detrimental to their careers.
It’s very much a catch-22. You can clearly understand the company’s trepidation in giving their personnel carte blanche when it comes to social media, but at the same time, these are independent contractors who should be able to leverage their names (not their WWE gimmicks and personas) for profit and opportunity.
It’s all just very messy.

I recognize that social media is the new frontier in terms of working the audience and all that, but at the same time... Kayfabe is f***in' dead, and it ain't coming back.
Were I in the WWE's position, social media accounts would be owned solely by the performer under their real life name, there'd be clear legalese stating that "all thoughts and opinions presented are strictly my own and not of the WWE" etc., and there'd be no crossing streams of WWE storyline and real life.
I don't see David Tennant tweeting as The Doctor, I don't need to see Ashley Flair tweeting as Charlotte, in my opinion.
Oh, and Quincy can go get f***ed. What a terrible human being.

It’s all just very messy. The account being implicated in part of this was also a secret side account they had, and WWE isn't going to be able to legislate away the ability of someone to have their own private account unless they start bugging everybody's phones. It's like when a painfully dysfunctional couple make a joint Facebook account because they don't trust one another but then they both have secret personal accounts under fake names too anyway. This isn't stuff WWE can keep from happening, but honestly given the stuff being accused here there's also no way WWE could have been expected to prevent it, either. This behavior dipped into some unhinged shit that you wouldn't even expect to need to prevent someone from doing and if they can't conduct themselves even adjacent to properly, that's reason to just bin them completely and never look back.

I just wanted to add to the discussion that it’s funny how many vets talk about the death of Kayfabe, like your Flairs and Cornettes and such, when they spent most of the 90s going on TV and breaking the forth wall for angles like Flair’s feud with Bischoff and Cornette’s weekly rants.
So then getting annoyed about social media and terms being thrown around is like sportspeople being annoyed at fans who act like they know what to do better. It’s dumb sometimes, sure, but it’s not like you haven’t been on TV talking about this stuff.

Probably the most read newspaper in the UK. Because it's free to read on public transport.

Apparently he didn't learn his lesson I don't know how secretive it was because I stumbled on it about a month or two ago, but seriously why are they still employed? There is no reason for it, an immature idiot.

God, that's happened twice now in the last year at NXT level. The Jake Atlas arrest led to the outing of another talent.

I found out who it was by chance. and yeah what a scummy nice Quincy. At least, I saw on Twitter from somebody who regularly attends NXT that it was already well known by people who attend the shows and it wasn't like they tried to keep it a secret. They were actually surprised it wasn't common knowledge already, but still its really awful of Quincy to be leaking people's business to random fans in a group chat.
