Basically how do you feel has had a career with mostly great storylines, great matches and/or a combination of the two. My example would probably be Randy Savage, especially his WWF career between 1985 to 1992 being near perfect in terms of having great matches and having very compelling storylines that range from being fantastic to be batshit insane that it’s still a lot of fun.

Stone Cold Steve Austin? If we look at just the Stone Cold incarnation that started when he went to the WWF, that had to be some of the most compelling storylines, and with Austin vs Vince THE most compelling storyline (boom period!), in a short period of time.
Austin vs Roberts (granted, mostly for the inception of his catchphrase) Austin vs Bret Austin vs Vince / The Corporation Austin vs The Undertaker Austin vs Triple H Austin vs The Rock Austin vs The Alliance / WWF
That was all encapsulated in what, five or six years?

Randy Savage for me. His contemporaries can criticize his pre-planning and obsession with details, but from my side of the television, whatever he was involved in was usually the most compelling storyline in rasslin.

The Rock. Career was basically 7 years as a mostly full timer and other than the first 10 months or so he meets every criteria.

CM Punk for a modern example:
His ROH career
2006: debuting in wwe 2007: winning the ecw title 2008: cashing in mitb as a face and having runs with the world title, tag titles 2009: winning the IC title and then winning MITB again and cashing in on Jeff Hardy creating one of the most memorable fueds of the 2000s and sending Jeff packing for 8 years 2011: Pipebomb 2012: year long world title reign 2013: loses title to rock, has big matches with Cena, Brock and Taker 2014: exits wwe in an abrupt fashion 2021: returns to pro wrestling in a start up promotion actually competitive to wwe 2022: fued with MJF

Honestly, the first that comes to mind is some like a Jeff Jarrett or Sean Waltman. Neither the biggest stars, but fascinating narrative arcs of rising, switching companies, mostly keep the character consistent, falling, real-time tragedy and ending it by somehow becoming a beloved figure.
