At the height of the celebrity restaurant fad (Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock Cafe) Hulk Hogan attempted to cash in with his own pasta eatery in the Mall of America, only for the business to go under a few months later.
Did any of you ever go there? What about other wrestling restaurants ala WWF New York and the Nitro Grill?

Kulap Vilaysack (filmaker, wife of Scott Aukerman of Between Two Ferns and Comedy Bang Bang) worked there as a teen. She said Macho Man was a little creepy with her.

I did eat at the Nitro Grill a few times. I enjoyed the food and the very puny menu items, and did some meet and greets. Though it being WCW, you never knew if the wrestler advertised would be the one actually doing the signing.

My family took a trip to the Mall of AMerica back in 1996 and we all picked our own restaurants to get food from. I saw it there and seriously considered getting something from there, but in the end I bought food from some corndog place instead. To this day, it may be one of my biggest regrets, never getting the experience to enjoy some overpriced Spaghetti-Os.

We took a trip to the Mall of America in 97/98ish and I was so hurt that I found out that Pastamania went out of business.

I’m curious what the Mac & Cheese was like. One of the hardest food things to f*** up. If they can’t get that right, no hope for anything else on the menu.
Tried to think of gimmicky wrestling name for it too.. the Vinnie Mac & Cheese would not go since Hulk was in WCW at the time. But can’t think of one.

My mom’s family is from New York, so we ate at WWE’s restaurant when we visited my grandma. My parents said it reminded them of a Disney World attraction because when you walked in, the first thing you saw was the gift shop. On the wall behind the counter was a leather jacket with the scratch logo on the back; the logo lit up and sparkled like the jackets Chris Jericho wore later on.

Hogan wasn't even at the kick off the restaurant. WCW sent Macho Man do be there. If I were a part of the planning committee for the mall I would have seen a Hogan restaurant as a waste of space that could have been used for someone who actually cared about their product/store/restaurant.

Did any of you ever go there? What about other wrestling restaurants ala WWF New York and the Nitro Grill? No, but I did see the place in question while it was still open. I was hanging out at the mall for the day as I had nothing to do while I was in town. I spied the large cutout of Hogan from a distance, wondered what it was about, went to find out, then walked away since I'd have been damned to give that douche any of my money. I went and got some Dippin' Dots instead and never regretted that choice.
