How do you have two nights of Wrestlemania and still not know how to manage time? They've only been doing this for four decades. 7 matches in 4 hours and they had issues with time. The first 3 matches didn't crack 10 minutes. According to the wiki page for WM 38, Usos vs Nakamura and Boogs went 6.55, D-Mac and Corbin was 8.35, and Miz and Paul vs Rey and Dominic lasted 11.15.
The tag title match had Boogs blow out his knee, that's probably why it was short, and if anything, Drew vs Happy should have been at least a few minutes shorter considering what Corbin and Moss said on Smackdown. And a lot more violent.

I would love for someone to go through and calculate exactly how much time all of the video packages took up. And then calculate how much of that time was wasted on video packages for shit happening tomorrow that we'll have to see again tomorrow before the matches themselves. At this rate I want night 2 to have night 1 video packages play randomly just to balance the universe. I'm sure it'll pop up on Reddit eventually, but I half assed counted up the match times and it was am hour and 40 minutes of matches. The show went over the 4 hour mark. I think you have to include entrances and the KO Show in that... they are definitely a part of the show as much as any actual match is.

Yeah, I do think it'd be fair to count entrances, given how big a part of any given 'Mania they are, especially past the early 2000s, and the KO Show, yeah, obviously that was an important prelude, too.

You could probably add another hour for the hype packages, entrances, and KO Show and you'll still have a ton of wasted time that could easily add the match that was pushed to night 2 or a quick US/IC match

They needed 2 hours of video to remind us that there was in fact a night 2 and to use our hard earned money to bet on wrestling of all things. Gotta make sure you get the key demographic of "People who's peacock accounts renew on April 3rd" to make sure they tune in for night 2! Cause I mean otherwise... ho would they know that this isn't the only night of Mania... what them saying welcome to night one of our two night event? Poppycock. Yeah, man, this is why WWE is making the big bucks and we're not. The demo of people whose Peacock subs expire in an hour and might be on the fence about a charge this month because they need to save up every bit they can for a new dishwasher are a real force. I personally would've done the smooth brained thing and tried to appeal the demographic of fans of one of WWE's most beloved and merch-moving acts because New Day are a perpetually fun act to have even on your pre-show, especially if you wanna toss in a feel-good moment about Big E in the process to get those manipulative endorphins running through peoples' veins to get them to buy the show. But if I did that, I'd end up losing out on tons of night 2 sales, and I would be the clown forever out of business.

It sounds like it is back on for tonight. I am sure the wrestlers would rather wrestle on the main part of the show than the Kickoff, but they would likely get more wrestling time on the Kickoff and not cut into the times of any other matches, so I hope WWE does that. I doubt WWE would pay them any worse either. This was the match I was least looking forward to this weekend. It did not seem very Mania worthy, especially when Big E got injured.

I thought those video packages about Wrestlemania Sunday were just the placeholders for those that sat through commercials on the free tier of Peacock?

I don’t even understand how you run short on time on a show when one of the other matches got cut short due to injury. So how did they lose the rest of the time? Did something else run long? Did they not know how long their stupid video packages are? It’s hard to figure out how this happened.

I will defend the number of video packages. I mean it is Wrestlemania. Lots of lapsed fans tune in. Prior to tonight I hadn’t seen 10 minutes of WWE since Royal Rumble and it was nice to get caught up. And the ads are annoying, but I also got to watch a show that used to be $60 for $5. Had this show been $60, there’s no way I would’ve given it a chance.

According to Wikipedia Night 1 last year had just under 98 minutes of total match time, this year right at 100 minutes.
36 in the PC had over 108 minutes, although four of that was the pre show match.
Last year Night 2 had 83 minutes of match time, so that’s the mark to beat tonight.

Who cares about those nobodies. They have Cody Rhodes who is, by looking at Twitter, Bigger than Cena, Hogan, and Undertaker combined.

Given that one of the participants may have ended Big E's in ring career (not laying blame anywhere or anything) and Xavier just returned, I'm hoping it makes the main show. I haven't really been following WWE for a while but it would seem this story could pretty much write itself.

Sheamland sounds like a prestige TV show title. Sheamland sounds like where I woke up most Sunday mornings in my 20’s

I thought those video packages about Wrestlemania Sunday were just the placeholders for those that sat through commercials on the free tier of Peacock? This right here. As annoying as the hype videos were they are required to be in there due to their license for commercials with Peacock. While people with premium Peacock watched WWE hype videos, the people with the $5 Peacock had commercials. They can't adjust that time that is allocated for commercials as I'm sure that is part of their deal. Now of course that doesn't mean they couldn't cut other things to make up some time (interviews, attendance announcement, etc.)

Several factors include:
1: Actual matches/entrances 2: Austin/Owens talk segment 3: Long entrances for Becky, Bianca, Seth, Cody and Nakamura/Boogs 4: Drew cutting the ropes 5: Hall of Fame segment 6: Arena attendance 7: Wrestlemania Hollywood announcement 8: America the Beautiful 9: Stephanie and that one guy who won a medal or something (I don't watch much nowadays) 10: The Dallas Cheerleaders 11: Hype packages 12: Commercials
I believe 5-8 are traditional, but we didn't need 9 and 10. Get rid of those two, cut a minute from some matches and we'd have been good.

Someone on this forum once made up a great point; when UFC is running short on time, they cut video packages.

I want to know commercial time. That’s the difference to me. The advantage to the network is you didn’t have commercials. But I’d bet there were 30 minutes of them

I thought those video packages about Wrestlemania Sunday were just the placeholders for those that sat through commercials on the free tier of Peacock? Which means you can expect an equal number tonight, which will be recaps of stuff you saw last night.
