What's the longest title lineage you can remember?

The NWA title lineage from the 1970s to the early 1990s is easy enough because of the huge names who held it and Harley race has 7(or 8) of them and there’s the funks and Jack Brisco and that carry on.

I can confidently say I could do the WWF Title from 1963 to at least the 2010s and maybe even to present.

I could do the NWA/WCW title from Starrcade '83 until spring of 2000 when it got really crazy, but I could probably do it through the end of the company if given a mulligan or two.

I could do the WWF Tag Team Titles and IC Titles from WrestleMania I through probably 2005 or so.

I think I might even be able to do the WCW Tag Team Titles and US Titles from 1985ish until 1997 or 1998 no problem. Probably not the TV Title without significant leeway.


I can also give you every team, score, venue, and MVP of every Super Bowl ever and I can probably tell you the last 40 NBA Finals and last 50 World Series with the teams and numbers of games. And probably the first pick of the NFL Draft since at least 1980. If we want to get really crazy, I can give you every Green Bay Packers game since probably 1988 - and I could get the score right to within a point or two.


Basically I'm a nerd and me and my friends have spent a lifetime quizzing each other on this useless trivia when we're looking for something to do.

I can go WWE title Rogers to Reigns. IC title I used to be good on but I get lost around the time Drew McIntyre held it in 2010. Drew/Kofi (?)/someone/Ziggler/something/Wade/Zeke/Cody iirc. Then I can't remember what happens after Cody. I know Luke Harper held it briefly though.

Tag belts, no chance. Womens, I lose around the Laycool era. Eve Torres had 3 runs with the belt, who knew?

It's really telling how many people start to become unstuck with WWE from the 2010s onwards, with its dual sets of belts. I think its an indication of how having two sets makes all reigns less memorable (and feel less important).

Back in my younger days, I was a wrestling fact machine. I could've told you title histories, PPV results, whatever. I used to write out title histories for fun. Nowadays, I'd probably have a hard time going from memory, sadly. Hell, I need Wikipedia and Cagematch just to do the Wrestling Wars. And I'm talking about WWE stuff, which should be easy lol

I can do backlund-sheik-hulk-andre-dibiase-macho-hulk-warrior-slaughter-hulk-undertaker-hulk-flair-macho-flair-bret-yoko-hulk-yoko-bret-backlund-diesel-bret-shawn-sid-shawn-bret-sid-undertaker-bret-shawn-austin off the top of my head without thinking about it. After that, they lose me with changing the title all the time and nothing meaning anything anymore. It went from "the champion" to "prop for a television show". same with the i.c. and tag titles, that 83-98 period, I know by heart, anything the last twenty years, I won't have a clue. I'm good with wcw and ecw, but I might faulter here and there on those (more with the lesser titles, where wcw had more titles to try to keep track of). memphis, the title seemed to change every other week, so good luck with those, same with smoky mountain, brian lee and dirty white boy exchanged the title, but I couldn't tell you any other title changes than that. anything post 2000/some modern fed (aew/impact/roh, etc) I won't have a clue

I can remember the WWF title lineage from Buddy Rogers until 2009/10 which is around the time I stopped watching. Same thing with the IC championship. Their World Tag Team titles from Rocky Johnson/Tony Atlas to the mid 2000s or so.

I can do the entire history of the WWE title, including vacancies, in order. I can do the IC title confidently up until about 2015. WCW and ECW titles in order as well.

Actually, I'm working on a new thread (should be up tomorrow, the research bit is done, just the writing bit needs finished) and... apparently Chris Jericho had a whole IC title reign I'd never heard of, back in 2003. Won it and lost it on the same episode of RAW!
