He's changed barber. Or bought a new hat, maybe. I dunno. His new barber shaved him bald, so he henceforth wants to be known as Tone Cold Steve Khanstin. I'll show myself out.

I feel like I see “TONY KHAN HAS HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT” come across my timeline like every other day. Dixie Khan? the difference is with Dixie there hardly was ever anything important. Buying ROH, copromoting a show with NJPW.. those are pretty big deals. The one time that the announcement didn't lead to something immediately, it was the kickoff to the build up of Bullet Club coming in back in 2020.

Tony Khan is basically what Dixie Carter could've been if she was competent. Like, even in spite of her absolutely baffling, stupid decisions on the business end of things, TNA often had a solid in-ring product. Then it just became too much for it to overcome because the awful business decisions started directly affecting the booking and the talent sticking around.

I forgot if that before or after Dixie completely alienating the Spike network executives by lying to them about Vince Russo and a bunch of other things. Thus sealing their fate on the network and sending the promotion tumbling down to increasingly more niche channels until it got to a hunting channel like, 12 people got.

It was definitely a few years before the Spike deal crumbled, but the funniest part about all of it The dude who blew the whistle on Russo being back in TNA? f***ing PWInsider Mike Johnson. Russo accidentally sent him an email for TNA creative.

Smart right? THEY OPEN THE SHOW BY OPENLY INSULTING WWE FANS... and basically did the same thing through out the show... like... you are clearly trying to cater to the WWE fans that aren't watching anything right now... why the hell would you call them idiots with shitty taste?

Mike Johnson reported like "Uh... for some reason Vince Russo has just sent me the script for the latest episode of Impact... I don't know why... and I was unaware that he was still on the payroll... but apparently he is." I still am 50/50 on if Russo did it on purpose because he was mad that he wasn't getting credit for his brilliant writing...

Lance Storm said it best, TNA wasnt a wrestling company, It was reality show about a delusional woman running a wrestling company. I believe both AJ and Daniels have said that Dixie wasn't a bad boss or even a hindrance till Bischoff and Hogan got in. Before that she was always star struck by anybody who was a former WWE employee, but Hogan and Bischoff convinced her she needed to be a regular on tv and then she decided she wanted to be a TV star. But for someone who supposedly had a marketing degree she was awful at it. I remember AJ saying in his shoot that he was at a hotel and heading to the gym and someone at the hotel recognized him and asked why he was in town when Impact was on that night. AJ said Impact was at the arena across the street and the workers had no idea. This was a common trend for TNA

The rumoured day for this AEW/NJPW show just doesn't make sense, the 23rd of June is a Thursday. If you're holding a big show like this, it has to be at the weekend.

This thread reminded be of how much I both hated and loved the goofiness and shit of the Prime Crap Years of TNA. The Bigfoot Dance Party was one of the true highlight moments of this entire website.
I think Tony isn't going to go Full Dixie and do shit like "HUGE ANNOUCEMENT: WE JUST SIGNED A FORMER WORLD CHAMPION!" and it's former NXT Tag Champ Viktor.
