Did we ever get more of an explanation for Matt Lee and Jeff Parker turning into Matt Menard and Angelo Parker (who's humorously enough still alphabetized with the J's on the roster page) other than something something Sports Entertainment when the JAS first formed?
I remember so little about their time in the WWE that I had to stop and make sure those weren't just their Ever-Rise names, though I can definitely see them being a deliberate pastiche of the old FCW name generator tendencies.
Out of kayfabe, I wonder how much of it is because of AEW seemingly finally hitting the One Steve Limit so to speak, particularly since this happened pretty much right around the same time as a certain other Matt and Jeff pairing coming aboard. Makes you wonder how much of this was a change for commentary's sanity, or at least for JR's.

It's hard to not assume it's just to stop them from being Matt and Jeff, less famous version.
I also think it was a good idea to establish goofy nicknames for both of them, because it always sounded odd that Excalibur would tell us about "Big Magic" Matt Lee and Jeff Parker. "Magic Daddy" and "Cool Hand Ang" is a much stronger pair of names that sound like they go together.

Also because it adds to 2point0’s legacy of having name and gimmick changes which only feels right.

My favorite part was during the segment, Chris Jericho mentioned how they use "real names" in the JAS. Plenty of people pointed out that Jericho was a fake name, but the brilliance is that at Matt Lee and Jeff Parker were their real names.

I barely knew their names before, becuase I never saw them in NXT, and I definitely don't know their names now. I've read them both multiple times in this thread, and again while Googling to try and work out what their actual names are, and I still don't remember

DADDY MAGIC is still amazing to me, and is a callback to his BIG MAGIC tagline so I mark for it.

I hope that when they lose an important match, Jericho punishes them by taking away a surname and a given name respectively.

The entire group needs to become:
Jericho Hager Menard Parker Garcia
A first & last name is too much carny wrasslin'.

I love that they upgraded 2point0's whole presentation. Matt Lee and Jeff Parker are such normal guy names you could almost forget what they're like. You cannot forget what Daddy Magic is like. I could never forget Daddy Magic.
